Who do people think is good to watch or listen to about wine on podcasts and Youtube?

The Bon Appetit channel has some that range from educational to just fun. Lots of tasting episodes.

Agreed. I find Andre Mack’s videos on the Bon Appetit channel both entertaining and informative, although sometimes I have to slowdown or rewatch because a lot of information is being thrown at you quickly.

It’s the best for sure, but there are other good podcasts, just not as consistent. The Winemakers is often quite good. The Black Wine Guy (now called Beats, Vines & Life) can also be very good.

I would respectfully say Sadat X is the GOAT:

I’ll Drink To That is an absolutely amazing resource. Almost everything I know about wine came from I’ll Drink To That or WineBerserkers. A bit of an exaggeration…The podcast is not casual listening for a beginner though- you are a fly on the wall for pretty high level conversations. The host Levi Dalton doesn’t go out of his way to explain technical terms, for example. You’re left to look it up yourself and the listener is assumed to have a decent amount of wine background. When I started getting serious about wine about 6 yrs ago, I would listen to the podcast and have to pause every few minutes to look stuff up. It was a great education and really gets you excited to try wines made by his guests.

Konastantin Baum and No Sediment are both nice YouTube channels, though more basic than the podcast for sure.

They aren’t as recent but when I really started trying to learn about wine a few years ago I’d watch The Unknown Winecaster. Usually 7-10 minute videos going into some nitty gritty. Learned a lot from those. Don’t know if the dude has made anything in the last five years but they certainly have some good info.

Like everyone else has said. I’ll drink to that is the gold standard. Levi Dalton’s stuff is fantastic. I’ll also second Beats Vines and Life (love tribe called quest). That’s a solid podcast.

You might also enjoy these long form podcasts: “Wine Blast with Susie and Peter”, “Vint Podcast” and “Wine for Normal People”.

I’ve been listening to Roadside Terroir lately which has been interesting. Not the most polished but very informative.

The problem I have with I’ll Drink To That is he does about 4 episodes a year.

Fellow Berserker @Adam_Frisch is on the latest episode of The Winemakers podcast!

with 500 episodes in the vault, lack of content doesn’t seem like the most valid criticism. levi’s been at this game a long time, but not 125 years

Episodes came out much more frequently prepandemic. But agreed, that archive should keep anyone busy for a while!

On YouTube I particularly like Constantin Baum, V is for Vino, No Sediment, and Attorney Somm, Our Pour Decisions. Great creators with varying levels of production quality and personality, but all sharing great wine content.

IDTT is the gold standard. I also enjoy Cork Talk by Tim Atkin MW.

For more structured educational experiences I would recommend the Unknown Wine Caster, Wine with Jimmy, and Matthew’s World of Wine. Those are all solid supplementary content for those studying for wine exams.

oh man, how could I not mention Cork Taint. Love that stuff.

Attorney Somm gets my vote! Closely followed by Sadat X :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
