"You do realize I'm a massive player in the wine industry."

I’m betting you can guess the identity of this former Berserker on the first or second guess:

I was hoping it was you, or Alfie.

Good grief!

You do realize I’m a massive player in this certain internet wine forum.

And I thought it might be the guy who was wasting too much time here back in the day.

That doesn’t narrow the field down much.

I didn’t realize Cellar Tracker was giving out awards.

Since I’ve never heard of the Chris fellow I googled and came up with this.

“Chris teamed up with venture capitalist legend Bill Hambrecht, whose previous vine ventures include Gary Farrell, Ravenswood and Ridge. Together they acquired an old winery that produced 125,000 cases. They scaled it down to a sophisticated boutique winery producing 6,600 cases with state-of the-art equipment.”

Who buys a 125,000 case winery and cuts volume down 95%? Must be an easier way to start a small winery. No mention of who the 125k was though.

I can’t believe that.

I am amazed he is not a Cabinet Secretary, however.

That’s the bridge under which he currently resides.

Voted “most helpful on Cellar Tracker:” John Glas

Top consumed wines on Cellar Tracker: Caymus Cabernet

Is John Glas the Caymus Cabernet of wine commentators (sorry, can’t really call him a critic or “massive player.” ) If we’re basing this on popularity, I think it’s an apt comparison.
