While I wouldn’t count myself as a huge fan of BoJo generally speaking, I do enjoy the wines from Lapierre, Alex and Jean Folliard and a few others. Fairly recently I had the pleasure of trying Yann Bertrand’s 19 Cuvée de Chaos and WOW was I impressed. Pure silk and more layers than I was expecting. I decided to seek out some others and grabbed his 2020 Les Bambins. Yet another winner. While I’ve enjoyed a number of BoJo bottles in my life, I’m not sure I can say I was ever enamored with any prior to these. If you haven’t tried, definitely worth it!

If you are bouncing around Beaujolais - Rémi Dufaitre is in the same vein as Yann (for me). Quite like his (and her) stuff as well (Rémi & Laurence). He even does a fun non-Gamay from Beaujolais, Cinsault and Grenache called Les Grillons. Neat to try if you can find it…

Foillard tends to be the only BoJo producer I purchase — they were my introduction to BoJo, and subsequent dabblings have come to show Foillard is the only one I’ve tried thus far that have impressed me enough to want to buy. How would you compare Bertrand to Foillard, stylistically?

2019 Yann Bertrand Morgon Bio Dynamite - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (12/15/2023)
Noticeably disjointed and off-putting on opening. After one hour, this settled in a really pretty place, dominated by a delicious bright strawberry and framed by good structure. No glou glou here, just a beautiful wine. It's a compelling and well made wine which seems to have lots of room to grow.
One should maybe mention that the Cuvee de Chaos is a Fleurie - and Les Bambins is a Saint-Amour, both Cru de Beaujolais.
I had the Morgon once, I think 2015 but not sure, very good but I m not really a Beaujolais fan, except very old Moulin a Vent
