Xavier Gerard: a Cote-Rotie producer to be on the lookout for.

Since we cannot find it, why not post on more unicorns? This way we have to believe in them.

Plenty of the regular Côte Rotie out there! 3 listings on wine searcher

fu, have you by chance had the St Joseph from Gerard?

Greeting me at the door tonight when I arrived home:

No sir.

Not Fu, but a friend hosted a blind tasting of 2015 St. Josephs, including the big guns and a few ringers; 37 bottles total. This wine was the favorite: 2015 Xavier Gerard St. Joseph “Le Blanchard."

Rosenthal sold out of the 2016 in a flash; just 20 cases for the U.S.

Disclaimer: I sell Gerard and a lot of the other wines included in the tasting.

I’ve had the Saint-Joseph in the past and it is excellent.

I appreciate “non-fu” thoughts as well! I’m eyeing down a couple bottles on Kogod and the Blanchard is one of them after reading this thread.

Wine house has a few st Joseph in stock, I’ll give one a shot.

I bought the regular Cote-Rotie because on this thread. Looking forward to trying it for the first time in 10 years!

Good for you, but I don’t think you need to give this 10 years: 3-5 more years in bottle would be fine in my view. Cheers!

Even better. Thanks!

PSA; $49.99 at the Wine House. (I have no disclosures/affiliations)

Cheers,
Warren

8 cases down 2 to go lol

Just bought 3 more. So down to less than 2.

Gone

That was quick.

I’m sure the email blast was going to sell the wine quick anyways but that was pretty quick.

I forgot that Xavier was at a dinner there in March; I would’ve went but was out of town.

Wine House (LA) just sent out an e-mail ad… 120 bottles at $49.99 per bottle…
No, I do not work for them…
Cheers…

Looks like there’s 2 bottles left now lol
