Hey all! With tariffs being what they are, I figured I’d need to plans in motion sooner than later. Next year I’m planning to get married and to have 50-60 people there. I’d love to find a very large bottle of champagne for our wedding party. I’m open to anything (Pol Roger, Billecart Salmon, etc. etc.) so long as it isn’t crazy expensive (I love my friends and family but a 6L of Dom is out of my budget lol). I had previously been to a party with a 9L of Pol Roger and that seems like the ideal size (but definitely flexible)!
If any one has any leads on where I can find something like this, I’d greatly appreciate it!
An acquaintance many years ago had a 27 liter Drappier Carte d’Or sabered for a birthday party and it looks like they still bottle an extensive range of large format bottles.
Just opened a 12L of Schramsberg for a wedding anniversary party a couple weeks ago. I think they said they make 9 of them a year. I asked about a 9L and they offered a 12L It was a hit at the event.
The Ellner or Schramsberg could work! I know my fiancee loves Pol Roger and Billecart Salmon so I’ve been focusing my search there. Thanks to another WBer I found a 6L of Laurent Perrier but would need to get some help shipping it. Gotta find some mini bottles for her to try for screening purposes
Have your local wine shop, or McCarthy & Schiering, ask their distributors for current inventories. We carried up to 12L of Taittinger and a couple others in past.
