WSJ on Prosecco.....I don't think so!

The Mionetto Brut is better than Bisol’s Crede? Pa-leeeeeeeeeeze!

Roberto, what do you think of the Nino Franco Proseccos? I met Sylvia Franco when she came to a Cargasacchi winemaker dinner in Vail last January. Beautiful girl and she really had it going on in in terms of class, intelligence and wine knowledge.

I would put Franco solidly in the second tier (out of maybe five levels) of producers in the classic zonas.

Roberto–what are your top Prosecco recos?

Tanorè, Tanorè and Tanorè followed by Le Manzane, A’lthea, the top cuvées of Rugerri, Col Veteraz and Bisol.

A new producer we are still in negotiations with and to be named later may join Tanorè at the top soon. They are doing crazy stuff like making two cuvées from the same vineyard with one being a super crisp and fresh lot made from early harvested grapes and the other being a decadently rich lot made from late harvest grapes.
