I checked the bin ends sale at about 5:30 am PST and just about everything was already sold out.
When did it start? Midnight?
Yes 12 PST. I emailed them asking because it wasn’t stated in the mass email they sent out. So far, I haven’t bought anything but have already bought all of the ones I’d be interested in.
Since they started their locker concept, it’s the only way to go.
It is BS, those were sold out before they came out. It is either just marketing (creating sense of urgency) or best case scenario they are opening them up in batches and will become open later on…
Very poorly managed, but it is what it is…
Edit: just to be clear, I have been monitoring since 11pm PST last night that’s why I know most of the ones shown as sold out have never had inventory this round
Its sad because i nabbed some good stuff last year during this sale
It feels like wines pies is really having trouble getting rid of stock, right? Soooo many repeats…
Just got this BGIII mystery and it is Faustini. I guess that is good (don’t know anything about them)! @JoshF wins the guessing prize.
I’m seeing this at WTSO as well, but they keep offering the same wine at the same price. Has winespies lowered pricing at all?
A sign of the times, perhaps.
Quantities on close out getting larger? More overall offers at close out? That would cause them to sell more slowly and end back in the cycle to move stock.

To me, this is great sleuthing as there was very little to go on and no vineyard name on the label. I’ve read that prime vineyard owners will sometimes not allow the name unless they taste and approve the wine before release. Then I suppose there are some that just want to create an artificial shortage by not allowing the vineyard name to be used under any condition. Can the winery staff verbally tell customers the vineyard? Perhaps someone with winery experience can enlighten me as to how these winery NDAs work. Thanks.
IMO it is just showing the small number producers they actually are able to get wine from and the overpriced the Napa wines are (at a winery offer level).
WS pretends to sell wines at 50% discount, but you can find them in winesearcher or Vivino for the same price they are offering.
The “deals” WS brings on Napa or Sonoma wines are not such, really. Anytime they bring a Spanish wine the prices are absurd. The last one I saw at a decent price (not great) was Aalto. Same for Argentinian wines just look K&L or Hi-Time and you’ll finde the same or better deal. Can’t speak to Italian wines, but I figure won’t be much different.
It’s a little sad, I was hoping they truly were what they say they are.
Joe, read your post in my email, and what you shared, is making my point. I vetted the first wine on your list and I found them cheaper in Winesearcher. Honestly the only appeal of Winespies lately is the locker feature… and some are jumping on that train as well.
I agree the deals here are misleading and not nearly as good as they lead you to believe in the writeups. I bought Patz & Hall Alder Springs Pinot Noir at Last Bottle at $19, they are trying to sell it at $28 for a good recent example.
This looks like an interesting offer…2014 Meyer Family “Bonny’s Cab” for $65…

I’ve had this wine before via WS and while it is good, it underwhelms for the discounted price, IMO.
Riverrain Tench 2022 back up in the store - one of these cases where it’s a genuinely good deal
Reading their pitch it sounds like one of the best California Cabernets ever made! And it’s only $65!
Interesting they’ve got Sloan up there - the primary and secondary bottlings. 2017 Prop for $505 is no steal.
Yes the Sloan and Asterisk have been up there a few days now, I wonder how the winery is liking that…
