Wineries to visit near Geyserville

Hi all - this is my first post although I lurk from time to time. This is a great board - I learn alot! A group of friends are going up for a weekend and will be staying in Geyserville. Somewhat familiar with the area, but would welcome any recommendations of wineries to visit that are not too far from the area so we are not wasting time driving. Prefer smaller than larger scale operations - red wine lovers. Thanks for any suggestions.

That would be Ridge.
And…you have to eat…Pizerria Diavola, there on the main street in Geyserville. Killer pizza and other stuff.

Mercury right in downtown Geyserville. Great fun!

Unti – an interesting array of Rhone (grenache, syrah) and Italian (barbera, sangiovese and montepulciano) varietals, all made in a very balanced style. Still family-owned, so there’s a good chance Mick Unti or his dad will be in the tasting room.

Agree with Unti. I would also recommend Talty (a bit further North), Nalle (best zin in Dry Creek), Rafanelli and the aforementioned Ridge. I would also recommend Hawley (nice viognier). Nice wines.

+1 on Talty. On the Dry Creek Road nearby, Zichichi makes some solid zinfandel and petite sirah. Yoakim Bridge is right by there, and worth stopping by particularly for their zinfandel sauce. Quivira is a bit farther south on the Dry Creek Road, but it’s worth the drive for a nice winery setting and good reds.

Skipstone Ranch is unbelievable. No winery facility there but the vineyard is beautiful and the wines are amazing. Killer cab heavy blend now made by Melka, plus a viognier. Way under the radar, super special place. www.skipstoneranch.com

Thanks all - appreciate it. Never heard of Skipstone Ranch - thanks Phil, I’ll have to check it out.
