2006 Ramey Wine Cellars Syrah Shanel Vineyard Sonoma Coast
93 POINTS PARKER!
Suggested Retail $60.00
Wine House Price $29.99

Robert Parker Tasting Notes: “Slightly better is the 2006 Syrah Shanel Vineyard. It includes 3% Viognier, but it is less noticeable at this stage. An opaque purple color is followed by enormous quantities of blackberries intermixed with tapenade, acacia flowers, and truffles. Full-bodied, meaty, and dense, it cuts an even broader mouthfeel than its sibling. It, too, can be drunk over the next decade.”

Saw this as well, very tempting.

I could care less about the 93 by RP but the 93 by (IWC) has my interest peaked.

Anyone had this?

93 points from anyone (even Cellartracker) gets me going. neener

ouch, almost $20 to ship 4 bottles ground a few hundred miles; anyone got a free shipping code?

Or I can just wait for the Posner Berserker exclusive for $25 because cali syrah is getting dumped everywhere newhere

I had the 06 Rodgers Creek, Sonoma Coast a week or so ago and was really impressed by it. It was one of those wines you could spend all night with your nose in the glass- extremely well made, as you might expect from this producer.

I preferred the Rodger’s Creek as well. Not as much “tapenade” as the Shanel, more purity in both the aromatics and flavors.
$32 net, Tyler. 94 IWC.

I never had this one, but I have enjoyed the Rodgers Creek.

Yep, good wine, but not as good as the Rodger’s. David Ramey is a really good guy and obviously a very good winemaker who despite ripeness manages to maintain balance. I like ALL of the 06 Ramey’s I have had(Chard, Cabs, and Syrahs).
