I don’t know the current market price for the WOTY, but this seems low.

It says it is sold out, though, so oh well! Market price currently for the 03 Tenuta Nuova is about $80. As far as I know you cannot find an '01 anywhere.

That is a great price. Thanks for posting!

And it’s already out of stock! Kyle must have gone nuts with the Amex

I think they had one btl

They had 6 bottles avail when it went on sale.

I got 3

Nice score.

I know that it was tasted blind at the 2003 CDP thingie in NY (Coelho put up TNs on Parker) and I was told it was very UN Brunello like in character. Could be a good thing.

Tenuta Nuova is a fairly modern wine, but I find it different from some of the other “modern” wines as well. I think it displays good sangio character of red fruits, dust and leather mixed in with the darker flavors and the (quite copious) chocolate/vanilla/oak notes. I don’t find it overripe or a mess, and I don’t suspect it of having Merlot or Syrah, though who knows?

I would say it’s thoroughly modern and not a great representation of Brunello, but still a very good wine, if you can deal w/ the oak. I still prefer, say, Fanti to it for a reasonably modern wine but would but Tenuta Nuova above many other modernists.

For me none of them hold a candle to Conti Costanti, Il Poggione, Ciacci Piccolomini, Salicutti or Pertimali but that’s just my stylistic preference coming out.
