Agreed. I’ve bought quite a few and haven’t had a lousy bottle yet. I think WineBid also caused many to bow out from buying directly from Cayuse.
That’s exactly how I go through the listings. I like Excel so it’s actually pretty easy to do.
It also degrades their brand. I posted a year or two back about a 3 year old cali pinot missing about 4 ounces of wine. Very obviously a coravin’ed bottle. A bunch of people responded “it’s fine since they disclosed the ullage” which bewildered me.
I sell small amounts of wine there , because it’s local and I store wine there, and I feel like the prices I get are substantially below what things sell for at Winebid and K&L. Probably because of the bad interface and how that affects the amount of traffic?
Anyway, probably means good opportunity for the value conscious shopper.
Okay, but we know how they operate, so the question becomes why did you buy a bottle with such a low fill?

I see crap bottles on Winebid I wouldn’t touch. I also see wines that make me pee in my pants. So it evens out.

$10 each, which effectively killed the German section.
Just wanted to highlight that a senior person at Winebid saw my post, reached out to me and said unfortunately this bottle slipped through the cracks and that it came in an otherwise excellent collection. They pulled it immediately.

Anyone know why this bottle is being listed for $900? It was higher before and I couldn’t figure out why. Like just don’t follow this unless I’m missing something blatant.
Maybe the bottle size has not propagated correctly into their database?
