Wineberserkers posts have consequences! Fallout trickles int

Totally agree with all this. I also don’t see anyone making an issue out of it; rather, I merely see a conversation about it. I don’t see anyone really complaining, per se; do you?

I knew this response was coming, and just as you said “I guess I don’t see what the issue is.” Nowhere in my post did I say that they didn’t have the right to drop me. Certainly they did. Whether or not I agree with their decision is another entirely separate issue. The point of the post however was clear, to see how many people have been affected in real life with the goings on here. I try to avoid placing unspoken motivation to peoples postings. I’ve found that it almost always leads to silly internet arguments.

Are you dissing my wife? WTF?

If the intent of your post was indeed to spark simple conversation and list the wineries/shops that have dropped customers based on criticism then that’s one thing, but your ‘Mother wagging her finger’ tone sounds like you are seeking to hash this whole conversation and thread over and just pile on. It’s snarky and sounds very sarcastic.

I am no where near the internet police and I am certainly not here to monitor or defend anyone but after reading the start of your thread you could have made your point without ‘waiting for this to happen’.
You certainly know that when you post in this tone it will lead to a argument, don’t you?

I know the thread changed but so far only Futo, Scarecrow and BC are the only wineries that have been mentioned out of your original ‘question’ that you asked. So the tone has not been very successful or am I missing something?

Again, I don’t see the issue nor reason to ‘out’ these people for their customer service, I work in customer service, I am a Chef so I certainly have had a fair amount of criticism thrown my way, but I am also a customer and if/when these things happen to me I would just shrug my shoulders and move on. I have had crappy customer service from almost every shop/restaurant/store/Government agency at one time or another, if it happens to often for my liking, I move on. Well except for the Gov’t…wrong board…
I don’t tweet, blog, go on some board to voice my grievance about an instance or company, I do the adult thing and write the owner and let them know how I feel and then vote with my dollar. Like I said movin’ on…

Only in my dreams!!

See the thing is that if we’re playing “all’s fair in love and capitalism” then every reaction has to be fair – it’s fair for the winery/retailer to drop them, and it’s then fair for the customers to list the wineries that do this, to whatever end they choose. I suppose some reply from the winery/retailer is also fair, but maybe that’s the weak point in the end game – if people have already been dropped they have nothing to loose.

Your point seems more that disagreements shouldn’t be aired publicly, and that’s fine. But that’s not free markets and no shoes, no shirt, no service, and your argument isn’t somehow and more or less neutral or objective than others. For what it’s worth, in this context, the retailer could just as easily do the “adult” thing and write the customer a letter, see if there is a mix up, or at least explain the dropping.

In any case, if you’re going to strip an analysis down to purely descriptive, you can’t bring judgmental, value-based opinions in the back door. If we’re talking free markets, etc., then there is no place for what a winery or customer should do as a matter of etiquette or social norms; all either should do is what serves their interests best, understanding he, she or it gets to define their interests. This would be boring, and the whole theory is frankly tautological.

But you never share your experiences with your peers and/or friends?

It’s freedom of speech. It’s not freedom of speech without consequences. You can say the same thing two different ways, how someone reacts and feels about each statement will be different
