I wonder how much overlap there is between wine lovers & whisky lovers?
Does anyone know if any surveys or studies have been done on the subject?
To me these two drinks are rather opposite in terms of taste profile and intended audience.
So, it’d be interesting to see if the audience is indeed different or if there is much overlap…
What say you?
I enjoy good Scotch.
I love bourbon and rye. Love it! If it’s not wine, it’s whisky.
YES!!
and the Scotch too
Based on a study of myself, the answer is wine lovers love whiskey too.
Wine and Bourbon for me please…
Absolutely no overlap.
Wine and whisky scratch different itches for me, but they scratch them darn well.
Love wine and whisky. Throw beer in there as well.
This. I used to dabble in Scotch too but am all about Bourbon now. All about that oak and vanilla.
Well, I love wine, scotch, bourbon, vodka, tequila, and good beer or ale. Maybe that just makes us a bunch of alcoholics! Actually, I’m a glass with dinner, then a drink for dessert kind of drinker.
I think wine and whiskey mix great, my interest in both has increased exponentially over the last five years at the cost of beer.
I also think that a certain element enjoy cigars with both, another element would say that cigar smokers are satan personified
Take last weekend for birthday dinner with friends, Tomahawk Wagyu Steak with some Denner, Bedrock, Cypher and Mollydooker followed by Four Roses LE 2013 with Bolivar Gingantes and you have all the things a guy ever wants in his mouth !!!
This is what I do, as well.
I think I just like drinks in general - wine whiskey beer, rum gin etc…
I also take tea and coffee pretty seriously too.
This board’s bourbon thread has 46K views, Scotch thread, 23K views. I’d say a bit of overlap and interest. Personally, I’ve grown even more interested in Whisky courtesy of Wine pricing.
