Wine storage in Pasadena anyone?

I know we have some residents of the Pasadena area here. Any opinions on where to store wine?

Pasadena wine storage is right next to where I’m moving but they and wine grotto charge a ridiculous $10 delivery fee. Any other suggestions around there instead?

I accept my own wine deliveries, so Storebox’s delivery charge has never been an issue. I know there are a number of Board members who store at Palate in Glendale, but not sure about their prices or if they accept deliveries. There is also the Wine Vault in Glendale, but I’m fairly sure they don’t do deliveries.

Welcome to the neighborhood.

Why not move down here to Irvine . . . plenty of nice offsites here! haha . . . just giving you a hard time Fu. . .

I’ve been with the Wine Vault for 20 years or so and highly recommend it. I believe their prices are lower than almost everyone else’s, and you end up spending time at Palate (both the wine store and restaurant). They do accept deliveries; I believe it’s $5 per case. Call and ask for Nancy Hathaway or her sister Laura.

We store our wine at Pacific Wine Distributors, they accept and deliver. They have moved to Irwindale but you should check out their website for rates.

thanks for the replies everyone. I think I might end up at Pasadena Wine Storage as it’s .5 miles from my place. Seems like everywhere charges for deliveries so might as well pick the place closest to me.

I’m used to free delivery and at least 20+ hour access everyday. What a change it is to move my wine to LA!

I just moved my wine to Wine Vault. It was half the price of my locker at The Wine Cellar in West LA. I researched all the places in the area and Wine Vault beats everyone on price. That may make paying $5/case for delivery worthwhile.

Poppy,

I hope you didn’t move the wine by yourself [cheers.gif] Do they have a website?

One advantage of storing at the Wine Grotto (Storbox) is that L. Fisher will write snide comments by your name on the delivery sheet if she sees your name on it.

You can opt for a $15/month unlimited delivery fee there rather than the $10/per.

Cheers,

Ha! Yeah, right.

They do not have a website, but you can call them and get a quote. They were very accommodating for me.

Kimberly, cool that you store your wine with Gino. He’s a great guy, just too far away for me.

If I could afford to rinse out my sink with Screaming Eagle, $10 would be immaterial. [snort.gif] pileon
