I’m going to London and Paris in a few weeks. Do you have any recommendations for places to shop to bring back a nice bottle of wine? I’m not really interested in natural wines but I am just looking for a store that has cheaper prices than stores in the US. I definitely will be visiting Hedonism wines in London but I hear their prices are relatively high. I would like to buy a burgundy and I think I am going to visit Ambassade de Bourgogne. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I’m not sure that the UK is the best place for a cheaper bottle of wine. I’m always surprised by the prices posters from the US seem to find, and when I was in New York I thought the range and prices of what was available were excellent.
Not necessarily cheaper, but the range of wines in the UK might help you find something you’ve always wanted.
BBR might be of interest, not just for the big range, but it’s got a bit of history behind it.
Unless the intention is to have a shopping experience, then I would suggest that you just order the wines online and have them delivered to your hotel. I’ve done that plenty of times in UK and across Europe.
Then you also don’t have to limit yourself to online retailers in France (Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and so on works very well). In case you’re there during a warm period I wouldn’t order online of course.
I would use WS and finde what I love or would like to try!
US is very competitive for Bordeaux, I wouldn’t waste luggage space for that.
