I’m in Paris this week with my wife, and I’m looking to spend $$ on quality wines and great food.
Highlights so far (would love feedback!):
2014 Chablis 1er Cru “Montee de Tonnerre” by Raveneau: 290 Euros
2020 Bourgogne Cote D’Or by Cecile Tremblay: 150 Euros
2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Le Clos Des Corvees” by Prieure Roch: 490 Euros
2003 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru “Clavoillon” by Domaine Leflaive: 400 Euros
1998 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “Les Gruenchers” by Domaine Dujac: 580 Euros
And a BIG question for you Rayas lovers out there: I just saw a 2003 Chateau Rayas (Chateauneuf-Du-Pape) at a wine shop for 790 Euros (!). Rayas has appreciated so much that the price is becoming ridiculous but I also haven’t had any success finding these wines at this price anywhere. Thoughts? Good deal?

I would pull the trigger on it. Probably at least a few hundred less than the best us pricing and rayas did well in 2003.

You asked for feedback. Back in 2018, purchased a mixed 6-pack of 2014 Raveneau including 2 MdT at a wine store in Laguiole (in Averyron) for average price of Euro 35. Of course, you have to account for inflation.
Wouldn’t say any of those are particular can’t miss deals for me. Also would be careful with mid-00 Leflaive as the premox rate can be close to 100%.

I would pass on that Rayas. The Raveneau sounds fairly attractive.
