I just signed up for a year of free shipping and placed my first order right as COVID was starting. I ended up having to replace multiple bottles in the order a half dozen times to find stuff that was still available. Is this normal for WL or is this just another COVID thing? I haven’t heard anyone else complain about distribution drying up, but that’s what they’ve been saying.
I’ve ordered from them a number of times over the years and they’ve generally been pretty good about fulfilling the orders. I’ve had a number of cases however, particularly with pre-order wines where they weren’t able to fulfill the orders and they weren’t very proactive about letting me know. The order just sat in pending for months and when I reached out, they let me know there was none available and offered a refund. I have found their customer service to be responsive whenever I’ve had to reach out.
Looked at one of their recent sales a few months back and could not find anything. They still relevant?
They are pretty good if you have the library pass.
I haven’t had any problems like that and have bought from them for the past 2 years or so. I think they might be based in NJ and if so, staffing could be impacted particularly hard by the pandemic.
Hi Max,
I’m so sorry about that! Yes we have had some supply issues of late on certain items but expect many items to be restocked next week. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time at brandon@winelibrary.com if there are any order or stock issues and I will take a look!
Hope all of you are healthy and safe!
Thanks Brandon, the follow-up goes a long way.
Had the LibraryPass. I found them too slow to fill orders and on multiple times was told inventory out. I watched the inventory for a day or two before this notification came and there was wine in stock. I was told some bullshit that orders after 3pm on the internet were not fulfilled as a priority. This made no sense as sometimes there was days between.

David and Mike - I’m looking into these now! I’ll follow up on email momentarily!
Brandon, I’m good. You have always been fair in correspondence and my issue was not with you. Cheers!
I got a lot of value out of the LibraryPass when I had it.
Unforunately, ‘the more I buy the more I save’ strategy ends up hitting a brick wall eventually…
I had it for several years and liked it, but found that in the last year or two there was less that I wanted and more pushing of direct import wines, Total-wine style. Did not re-up this year. For a few years there though they were my go-to shop because of the shipping, and I found some excellent deals. Customer service was always very good.
Does anyone miss The Elf?
