Why am I not surprised you would be the one to get it.
No, Rabelais!
I actually had no idea who that was, hah. Is there a story behind why he’s on the label?
He is from Chinon and supposedly raved about the wines back in the sixteenth century. That’s around the time Pepys was raving about Ho Bryan, “that hath a good and most particular taste that I never met with.”
I look forward to the Pepys anniversary label
Hysterical!
You are more of a geek than I am!

Love the wine, love the label. The original art label is at the Mouton art museum, a very cool visit if ever in Pauilliac.

This.
Sorry, Jim, it was a trick to lure the Mouton choice, and you fell for it!
Siran is now back to a traditional label. Mouton is Mouton.
Might me a bit too esoteric but y’all are experts.

The first one I would have gotten!

Yes, since 2005. I know the family well, and used to represent their Philippine companies when Edouard Miailhe was still mainly based in Manila (he moved his family back to Bdx some years ago). Siran’s ‘05 back label, the English text was written by me.
Actually, the current lettering of Siran’s label reminds me of that of Pichon Lalande which Ed’s aunt used to own.
well how about this rare stuff

Gramenon “Poignée de Raisins”

Looks quite familiar.
I have a bottle of this in my stash, but I don’t want to ruin the fun from the others just yet!
