Wine Boxes

I have a lot of wines in styro shippers that I need to get rid of (the shippers, not the wine). The wines will be put and stored on a pallet once out of the shippers.

These are mostly California wines (Cabs, pinot, chards) with a splash of Burgundy.

I would love some 2X6 style boxes (ones that lay flat, 6 btls on bottom, 6 btls on top).

As we know Cali bottles have gotten a bit big over the years and I would need a box that can fit these larger (longer and girth) bottles.

I have really liked the Ramey boxes (and they are great for burgs)…but some of the larger cali bottles (mostly cab) don’t fit well.

I have found this site… http://www.ebeaver.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Left side - click on wine storage - but boxes (with inserts) seem to be about $7…which i think is ridiculous.

Are there any suggestions out there?

Have your tolerant local retailer cull out the Ramey boxes and other suitable boxes for your needs.

EBeaver is a highly recommended box supplier, but I am not going to argue about their pricing…

Problem is that I have 300+ cases that will need boxes…so, slowly getting boxes isnt the easiest thing to do.

Michael,

The reality is that if you need 300 boxes on demand you’re going to have to pay. The cheapest way is to find a local cardboard company that can provide what you need. A big part of the cost is usually shipping, so the closer, the cheaper. I thought Georgia Pacific has all kinds of packaging they do, you might want to get some info on them.

If you can’t find anything, I suggest you call EBeaver and see what kind of volume deal you can negotiate.
