Wine Berserkers Exclusive Special - 2005 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Black Label Petite Sirah

First off I wanted to thank everyone that visited Conn Valley Vineyards last Friday. I had a great time and from what I’ve heard on the other thread everyone else did too. Since most of you loved the 2005 Petite Sirah I’ve come up with the following exclusive Wine Berserkers special. Remember we think outside of the box and this isn’t just the normal discounted pricing special.

2005 Black Label Petite Sirah - Hand bottled from the barrel you tasted at the winery with a custom Wine Berserkers label

$1200 a case (normally $1500 a case)

Here’s the catch, I need to bottle the whole barrel so we need to get 24 lucky Berserkers to get together and each buy a case. I can work with everyone on the design of the custom label and maybe turn it into a contest. Label design winner (as voted on by other Berserkers) gets the case for half price ($600)? Let me know what you think.

in for a case. you don’t sell off the entire barrel i’ll buy the pedestrian labeled PS for that price. i’l pick up the vino when next up in Napa. thx.

Perhaps the Boston group could pool assests and get a case or two? I can use my boss in NH as the wine mule (do this quite often) for shipping.

Is there any other Petite Sirah with $100 price tag? I have had some old petite sirahs from the 60s and 70s. They are still opaque but that’s about it.

Allora Winery in St Helena makes a very solid P.S for $70 or so. The Todd’s Wines are + $30.

We could cheat and use the the one I made up for the Napa Berserkerfest. If it was the winner, I can’t accept it because of our licensing, therefore the one case @ half price would be deferred as a reduction to the others. Not a math whiz, but that would save everybody about $25 a case.

Can you actually produce substantially better Petite Syrah than say Turley Haynes or Ridge York Creek?

I think that the 2006 Foley PS Muscle Man is substantially better than both of these. The ACV was better than this.
