Why don't I get the hiss but a pop when opening Champagne bottle?

I’ve been following the proper way of gently rotating the bottle while holding on to the cork. But I never get the soothing hiss but a pop sound when the cork is coming off.

No spills and the juice is still good, but wonder what is wrong.

Try leaning the cork over to one side.

I find the pop sound soothing.

Ok , a real silly question. I’ve never understood why there’s a difference between rotating the bottle vs rotating the cork. I do both and no trouble with either method.

I think the key is not taking your hand off the cork for safety, in case it pops off unexpectedly. If you rotate the cork, eventually you have to release and regrab it.

I always have a cloth of some kind draped over it, but that is an interesting point. I’ve never had a cork pop unexpectedly, and the last time I did it deliberately was at university, the cork really flew, bouncing off a window. No one hurt. But That was a lesson learned.
