Thanks for the info… mainly looking for younger vintages for investment only…

If you look at what back vintages of Montrose are available for you realize they aren’t much of an investment.

Why did you buy a case of 2022 over the others? Just curious. Only 22 I bought was Carmes.

I can sell you 19s (or trade you 19s for 22s if interested). I overbought 2019 as a vintage, including Montrose. These things happen when one has FOMO.

Thanks for the input…do you have other suggestions for investments?

I am big into Canon and Cristal rose

By investments you mean buy, cellar, then sell for profit?

Yes… i keep most of my wine in bond in London

Hi

I bought only 1 case of 22 montrose therefore cant trade and they are actually in the UK.

I was eyeing the 2019 but ended up buying the 22:)

Now 19s are cheaper than when i was thinking about buying

I store in UK as well but my 19s are in the US. I actually have a couple 19 in UK and could trade some for 22s. Have never processed a trade before. I store with Lay Wheeler and Seckford.

How about an S&P 500 fund? You’re almost guaranteed a better return than random wines you buy based on the advice of people who mainly buy wine to drink.

Better returns and more Montrose in my tummy. Everyone wins here.

You may be right… I am an investment banker for 30 years… and i have a portion of my assets allocated to wine…

thanks for the recommendation though

How old are you? Seriously.

You are going to be drinking any recent vintage Montrose you buy now when you are in your 70s. Likely your mid-70s. (Or drinking them before they are ready).

I’d personally focus on the oldest vintages you can find at a good price if you want to start drinking them much before then. These are notes on the already-23-year-old 2000

Sorry but calling BS here.
No sane person allocates assets to wine, then “invests” in widely available bdx. This makes no sense. Do you often invest in depreciating assets?

Note that he said he wants to buy them as investments…

I missed that; just saw the OP

If you’re an investment banker of 30 years, why are you asking for investment advice from random people on the Internet?
