Justt one data point to the contrary, I opened a 2013 St. Aubin Chateniere that was quite advanced, though still drinkable.

I’d just say advanced. The brown/dark gold color suggested premox, but it didn’t show the bruised apple and maderization that I associate with premox. It was more nutty and still had some brightness and almost bracing acidity. It was better than the color suggested but not what I expected.

Why don’t y’all wander to this thread for my note on a 2013 PYCM St. Aubin En Remilly. I suspect Mike’s was just an off bottle, because ours was the @MChang described.

Now back to your usual (Champagne) programming…
