Seriously. @Neal.Mollen is like the Professor on the Board on all things. And we are all the smarter for his intellect and voice of reason. Even if his palate is dead to Cab Franc.
Hear, hear Robert.
A few that have not been mentioned - @GregT @John_Morris, and (deactivated) Bill Klapp.
I’m always prowling around old threads for background information and those three were always chockful it, along with being great writers.
Thanks everyone. I appreciate having the place to vent on legal stuff, and my wife appreciates that I have somewhere (else) to do so too.
You are so right about forgetting people inadvertently! Add Larry Schaffer and Roy Piper and William Kelley to my list for sure----in terms of the people who have taught me the most. The people I value on this board…I don’t have a big enough space to post that list. ![]()
This thread scares me. No way I can come close to naming all of the people here I have learned from, present and past.
So I am not going to provide a list. I’m just going to thank you all, sincerely, for sharing your knowledge and experience so willingly, and exposing me to things I would never, ever have learned otherwise. Being able to broaden another person’s view of the world – on this or any other subject – is a gift, and it is a gift the members here have in abundance. ![]()
Great thread. I have learned a lot from WB.
Thanks to all, and especially these guys off the top of my head:
Frank Murray III (my early CA days and Champagne today)
Bob Hughes (all things Italian)
Neal Mollen and Robert Alfert (Bordeaux)
Marcus Goodfellow and Jim Anderson (Oregon)
Otto Forsberg
I am sure I am forgetting a few more.
@John_Ammons & @Dennis_Atick ARE The Dead Thread.
With special mentions to @Abbie_S & @ybarselah!
Steal Your Faces
Back at ya buddy. This group needs an offline one day!
i’m so down for this.
i do believe it’s my role in life to ensure that each berserker thread end up as a thread about corkage or the grateful dead.
Thanks Steve, those were great days indeed. I think while I was in the middle of it all I did not really grasp what was happening all around me. Having winemakers like Mike Smith multiple times, Thomas Brown, Michael Twelftree, Russell Bevan, Mike Hirby, Merrill Lindquist, Jones Family, Steve Pride, Elizabeth Marston, Larry Fairchild, Brian Loring and Rachel Silkowski, Palmeyer and even Anthonio Galloni! Over 55 great dinner-tastings Great times!!

this thread
I’m game. I think we’ve teased this back to squires board days. Let’s make it real. @rob_klafter and @bradkaplan too
About what?
I learned a lot about Los Alamos from Tom Hill when we met him at the museum there and he took us through.
I learned some ideas about fundraising from FMIII.
I learned about the disadvantages of drinking with thin stemmed Riedels at Crabtree’s Kittle House AND also how badly my wife could butcher French at a dinner for JL Thunevin organized by Mark Golodetz.
With our dogs!
Absolutely!!!
Love the thread and happy to see this post hasn’t gone rouge.
So many! I particularly love travel and wine visit reports, so anyone doing those is high on my list.
Other than the obvious entertainment here, what I really appreciate is that you can post a question on almost any subject and get some good info, sometimes even world class expertise.
So much value in travel, restaurants, and of course wine.
Some of my go to posters
@brigcampbell is knowledgeable about almost everything. Sometimes I think he just makes sh*t up ![]()
@Frank_Murray_III is the voice of positivity, glad he’s back posting again.
@GregT so much wine knowledge, wish he hung out here a bit more
@TomHill followed him from the start (of course not, no one’s that old lol), such a wealth of historical wine knowledge
@Neal.Mollen as much as I give him heartburn, his legal knowledge and experience are invaluable. Plus his Jazz posts!
@Robert.A.Jr top of the list for reading anything he posts ![]()
On my way to Vegas as I type. Would love to meet you all sometime… that would be some serious fun!
Yes, please!
