Thanks for this. Sounds like Joe Beef might be a bit too much for a late reservation on the day we arrive.
Pastel and Bouillon Bilk from that list. Mon Lapin also.
I know you asked about dinner, but …
Roch le Coq for awesome fried chicken (just go for lunch - not sure if they will have the picnic tables out front yet). Near Outremont metro.
Have a leisurely lunch by yourself at the bar at L’Express. Ask for their reserve wine list (Carte des vins parallele) in addition to the regular wine list. Order a bottle and bring the rest back to the hotel if you don’t drink it all. Celeri remoulade or their rillettes followed by steak frites or duck confit isn’t the worst way to spend a couple hours. Reservations essential.
Dinner works at L’Express as well, but there’s something fantastic about a leisurely lunch there. Solid bistro.
Thank you for the suggestions. I made reservations earlier today at Bouillon Bilk and Tuck Shop. Cancelled Joe Beef. We’ll only have two dinners out. But we should have two lunches together and I should have two solo as well.
Thoughts on Tuck Shop? Recommended by a friend and reviews seemed great. Reviews on Mon Lapin seemed more questionable.
Lunch at L’Express with a reserve wine list sounds awesome!
