They’ve been around for at least ten years but I find a lot of aversion to them (the do-it-yourself models). Many people just prefer the one-on-one personal feel of a hand-poured flight, while others don’t seem to trust the quality (even if how they work is explained and they’re assured they’re properly maintained).
