Picked up this last night at Chateau Ste. Michelle. 4lbs, 5 oz. Heaviest bottle I’ve seen.
Have never weighed any, but probably a PYCM or SQN.
maybe they misspelled impotence and are trying to make up for it.
Neal Family SVD cabs… Shafer Hillside Select!!!
heart chorea. should have called it, “the anvil”
rudd, some specific robert craig (can’t remember which) , delectus cj.
A 27L of something.
C’mon get your scales out and weigh those bottles! I’m looking for Empirical evidence. I’ve weighed lots of bottles when I was first starting Kaella. This is the heaviest I’ve seen.
I agree. The Neal SVD cab pre 2006 are very heavy: 4.4. Sorry for the pic but I don’t know how to turn it!
Full or empty?
Full
Always thought The Creator was a super heavy bottle. Just weighed it - 4.5oz as well. Probably same bottle type.
Bergström Pinot?
Yep, same for me - as I recall it is just under 4lbs empty (not sure how much filled with wine).
Either the 2000 Adelaida Cellars HMR Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir (some small-production version w/black label) or the 2011 Edge Hill Mixed Blacks Napa Estate.
We’re not talking about bottles larger than 750ml or Champagne bottles, right?
W/O actually weighing the bottle I will say that the Pahlmeyer Red and Merlot are particularly obese.
I remember when we received a few Jayson 750ml bottles in my retail days. Huge, thick glass!!!
On average, champagne 750s are the heaviest by far. That said, I have personally weighed tens of thousands of cases of wine from around the world, and the heaviest I have ever come across for 750ml bottles is a 56lb case of 12 (including cardboard), which is just over 4.5lbs per bottle.
Been there, done that . . .
It was 100% this bottle of Chinese Cabernet that I tried last week from a producer called Ao Yun (LVMH’s China project)
