8 shots of espresso. Doing an overnight CellarTracker server migration–started at 10. Actually hoping to be done by midnight if everything goes perfectly but already lost 15-minutes to a couple of glitches at the start…
BTW, once it is all transitioned I will trigger the worldwide DNS (domain name service) change. This can take up to a day to move around the world, e.g. you type http://www.cellartracker.com" onclick=“window.open(this.href);return false; and your browser gives you an error. As soon as the new site is ready (again hoping for a couple of hours) though it will be at http://new.cellartracker.com” onclick=“window.open(this.href);return false; and then http://www.cellartracker.com” onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; should start working in a few hours after that (again, same site, just a function of your ISP/DNS/browser finding its way there).
Yes, that will be the very last step. I want to make sure that everything is happy before I trigger that. If not I can always pack it in and keep going on the old hardware.
But again, as soon as the migration is done http://new.cellartracker.com/" onclick=“window.open(this.href);return false; will switch from maintenance mode to being THE real site. And a few hours later typing http://www.cellartracker.com” onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will take you there too.
So if you are anxious watch me on Twitter/Facebook and park your browser now on http://new.cellartracker.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (I already set that up a couple of weeks ago to act as a bridge/crutch during this night-of switchover.)
I’ll probably finish off a bottle of 03’ El Nido Clio that I popped late last night after a long day at work.
Like I said, it was late and I really didn’t know what to make of it other than I seemed to get some smoke combined with the fruit. It was enjoyable but hopefully tonight I’ll get a better sense of where it’s at.
