Since it is only 11am for me at kickoff, I’m starting with a 2001 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett.
I’m having a simple Seghesio 2012 Zin with grilled chicken for lunch
Will open something more exciting in 20 minutes when the niners kick off…
Stella Artois
Beer.
Leftovers from last night - 2004 La Rioja Alta Vina Ardanza and 2010 Jemrose Cardiac Cuvee. Last of the 6 Jemrose I ordered from Last Bottle not too long ago. Terrific value.
Ditto.
Since my seemingly sucky fantasy teams both are in position to win, we opened a Laeticia Blanc d noir sparkler. I think a 2011. Since my Patriots lost, I needed to find something to celebrate.
Wait…not yet released…
And a minute later, I see your post from CT…
2007 Napa Valley Reserve with Sunday night football.
Hoegaarden for me
2007 Pertimali Brunello
2010 Carlisle Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard
2012 Brooklyn Winery Red Blend
2009 Ridge Zin (one of the limited production club wines, I forget which one)
A white wine, I forget which one it was, I did not bring it.
Hey, we had a big tailgate at the game and needed a lot of wine to go with the grilled chicken, pulled pork, shrimp and avocado sliders, grilled cod tacos, skirt steak, and all sorts of home made toppings from mole sauce and caramelized onions to spicy jalapeno slaw, grilled pineapple salsa and guacamole.
PS - Jets win!
. . . Since my Patriots lost, I needed to find something to celebrate.
We celebrated that all by itself.
1985 Heitz Bella Oaks (very good, showing some Heitzy chocolate, but not exciting) and 2012 La Pepie Cabernet Franc (very mannered/stylized, instantly guessable as a natural / geek type wine, but very good within that style)
Orange and pineapple juice with mint and Meyer’s rum while watching Grace Potter, Willie Nelson, Wilco, Widespread Panic & ABB.
