What YEAH! wine are you drinking?

• 2022 Figure - Ground.

I really didn’t know what to expect given other TNs on this. For me, this was one of the more comfort-foodie XWCY! Wines I’ve had, meaning: less electric lift than some of them, but with a warmth and calmness to it. I came pretty close to guessing the blend (although off on the percentages, because the Mourvèdre is more apparent here to me).

What’s the best time to have this? Last summer day. Music: “Last Good Day of the Year” by Cousteau or “Spider and I” by Eno.

@Vince_T has a CT haiku note that ends “Memento mori” — which will make no sense to you unless you taste the valedictorian nature of this wine. Having had this, I can say, once again, @Vince_T nails it.

From my own, vastly inferior CT review:

Another offbeat winner from XWCY! Cranberry, a really interesting earthy note, vegetable stalks, orange rind. Less acidic lift than many XWCY! wines, but no less quaffable for that. Went stonkers with roast pork butt. Different, interesting, fun.
