I have several friends that I want to be able to participate in the buying frenzy, they just got off of work but I told them that I believe that BD offers go to about midnight on the East Coast, is that correct?

Auctions will commence around 2/3pm, finishing in at 8pm Pacific.

BD offers are good all day. Lots will be extended, that’s up to the individual winery for how long, etc. And some go a little nuts and start adding new stuff… get rid of those old dirty library wines!

I was asking the question because in past BD’s, Todd has sent out messages extending the closing time. I have been online since the start today, but I was trying to help out some friends so I thought I would ask just to see if anything had changed from the original posting…I was hoping for a simple answer, not a scolding from the alpha male…

We really don’t close this offer forum - I’ve seen offers good for a month or more… People coming back asking for more or posting a note in the offer thread
The AUCTION forum gets locked at 8PM PT because we don’t want bidding after it’s closed. Those bids at 8PM don’t count but it gets messy because people think they won, or lost, so we try and keep it clean. we’ll see with the new software, it’s locking all auction items on the button at 8PM

It’s been great, I found some new producers and it looks like the berserkers are sampling them all.
The servers held up, shockingly.
It’s really difficult to compare with last year, right now. The day of the week is a factor, the number of offers, etc We’ll see more sales late this year, I was just having the conversation with @Ed_Kurtzman and he said that’s what he’s seeing.
Total sales is the easiest metric, which Todd will collect and share, but at individual offer level it’s difficult because the offers are never exactly the same. That can be a positive or negative depending on lots of factors. But I think you can tell who really says “I’m gonna crush it”.

I agree with @Ed_Kurtzman. We all don’t want people to miss this great once-in-a-year event as long as we have enough wines to share with!

My mistake. I read the OP as auction, not offer. I did mention dumb people after all.
