What natural wine did you open today?

the jadis is also lovely, closer to a white with a touch of skin contact than full blown orange. the pinots are super refined, just never see them around anymore!

Magic bottles when on. Disobedience reminds me a lot of Gravner. Love these deep tea like macerations. The sous voile PN is also pretty bonkers. The regular PN is a bit meh IMO.

Sent PM.

cool, do you know if they are still officially with jenny and francois? used to see them quite a bit in new york many years ago. curious about the new wines from the property in spain too.

Enjoyed the 2023 Mathieu Barret Pas Calé very much last week. Full of bright berry fruit, very pure.

For those unaware he and Philippe Pacalet trade grapes each year so Pacalet bottles a Cornas (which I don’t like as much as Barret’s version) and Barret bottles this from Pommard grapes.

I believe I saw something a few months ago that mythopia currently does not have a US importer, not totally sure what happened there

Anybody has experience with Domaine de la petite empreinte (of De Moor “fame”)?

Haven’t seen much praise. Should buy some to test.

I just got a bottle of their Saint Bris Perseverance. Cannot explain why, I don’t expect to enjoy it!

The one available here is the Coteaux Bourguignon Mas la Tierra. At 75CAD, I’m debating if it’s worth trying…

Really beautiful wine, deep and complex nose with lots of minerals, citrus, and orchard fruit. Great acidity, citrus zest, green apples, salinity, and more minerals on the palate. Long finish. This is drinking really well right now. (94 points)

Incredible wine! Great color and surprisingly fresh and lively on the nose with notes of lemon, green apple, lime, and minerals. Great acidity on the palate with more lemon, orange zest, and mineral driven flavors. Long finish. What a great experience this was! Ripe vintage with alcohol listed at 14.5%, but it's barely noticeable and very well integrated and balanced by the acidity. Oldest Nourrissons I've had to date and what a wine this was! (96 points)

Les Jardins de Theseiis Romorantin 2020

Yellow stone fruit, a touch of honey and chalk. Mellow and serene with gentle finesse and perk.

Labet + blinds night.

2018 Lias and En Billat was both amazing and more rounded than the younger vintages in the line-up. The nose on Lias was to die for and the depth of taste on En Billat simply amazing. Top showing from both. 2022 Varrons was such a complete intense wine as well, though it would benefit from a year or two.

2021 Pellerine was simply to extreme currently. The acidity was crazy and it did not the normal fruit punch to counter it. It needs a long sleep.

2016 Vin Jaune from Labet was amazing. We decanted it for a few hours. Such a light beautiful rendition of Vin Jaune.

Eric Fimbel & Lydia Houillon’s unicorn Ploussard was very fun to try. Great wine, but I really don’t get the prices and hype on these. Enjoyed Labet’s Pinot just as much.

Hell yeah! :sign_of_the_horns:

Amazing.

I can’t tell, what’s the year on that Jamet? Impressions?

Another knock out bottle of Koji.

The Allante is a bit too oxidative, the Rosenberger was a little better after resting for an hour, just not a huge fan of Pet Nat.

That 16 Labet VJ is so, so good.

Jamet was 2011. It was my blinder. It was pretty damn good. Still very young and fruit driven. Needed a lot of air to open up as well. It have a long live ahead of it.

Had at some wine bar in tokyo. Been wanting to try some gut oggau and claus preisinger so I was pretty glad that they had them. Everything was pretty much what I expected them to be but the Domaine Bress Your Story Bacchus (green bottle) was surprisingly very good. Very floral and tropical fruits, good minerality and acidity, easy to drink and pair very well with food.
