6 liter 2007 Taittinger Comtes Rosé. Yeah, I somehow came up with a way to rationalize that purchase. Something my S.O. would understand (not).

I bought a 6L of the ‘06 Comtes at a great Zachys sale once (yes, those do exist)

Just curious, what is the shipping on a 6L?

Sort of a crazy-take-a-chance purchase for me. Didnt find much information about it, but will be fun to try as I have never had any GC like this before.

Baller buy Warren!!

I got 2 of those at the progressive sale. Had to stay up way past my bedtime to get them. Now just need to find an occasion to open one.

Holy S#/t Warren congratulations :polar_bear:
What’s your plan for it.

My rationalizations were these:
Our kids are in their mid twenties and although there isn’t anything imminent, there could be a wedding someday.
Also, I often donate wine to our local Hospice House auction, and also to the Brigid Collins Foundation, a charity for ending abuse in women and children.
For now, it will ornamentation on the cellar floor.

Cheers
Warren

Split a case of the 2016 Tronquoy Lalande, St. Estephe, with a buddy. Excellent value play in such a fantastic vintage.

I continue to be amazed at how many fantastic values remain in the market on this killer vintage. I continue to backfill like crazy as, 57, I continue to refine my ultimate “cellar” for retirement. As a drink wine most evenings, it’s really nice to have quality, affordable, mature wines at hand. These wines are as important to me, or frankly, more important to me, than the unicorns or big boys and girls wines, even though I grab some of those as well.
