What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

Karl,

Apologies for the delay. Looks like they are low but do still have some things. About two pages worth. I trust these wines.

Mag of 1975 Martha’s anyone?

A few random bottles chosen with great impulse at my favorite local to contrast last week’s burg buying insanity:

2022 Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin VV
2022 Domaine du Pelican Arbois Trois Cepeges
2024 Clos du Tue-Boeuf Cheverny Frileuse

Plus 3 thanks Michael.

Will be so interesting to compare this to the 2017 Anne Gros Ech + 2017 Millot Ech.

The millot is much less ready

Have you tried the CV yet? Can’t remember if you got that too

I’ve had it in the past, it’s good if not quite as good as the ech.

Found another 6 btls at a French retailer that was just put online it seems… not sure that I need 18 btls, but on the other hand, you can never have too much of a good thing I guess… with this purhcase, it is now my biggest holding of any single wine

was recently in japan and australia for a few days each, picked up a few bottles which are either rarely (if ever) imported to US or priced substantially less than i’d find it for over here. curious if anyone has any experience with these. all single bottles.

coco farm zweigelt '21 (japan)
votano kerner '23 (japan)
frankland estate “isolation ridge” riesling '24 (aus)
harkham “aziza” semillon '23 (aus)

… and a binner schlossberg '20 for good measure …

Welcome to the board.

Binner is always lovely and '20 seems to be ready. Coco Farm is an amazing initative that also employs local disabled people, and the wines are very nice. Sure some bottlings are a little ‘quiet’ and sometimes a little shrill due to the cold, but I like 'em. Especially the PN.

We discuss low intervention wines over here

the harkham semillon is a great wine. so clean, pure, and high energy. it showed quite favorably next to a bruyere houillon chardo when i was poured a taste blind. the harkham wines seem to be intermittently available in the states. i am curious about the reds but have yet to taste any.

A European caviste had a 24% off event, so I picked up some;
Cailloux du Paradis, Cuvee Raymond 2022 x6

Should drink nicely in 15 years.

Missed out on these!

I…ran headfirst into a well-priced 2023 Mugnier Clos de Marechale magnum while out for lunch today.

I had to move a much less worthy magnum out the bottom of my fridge to make room for this unexpected-but-happily-received purchase, lol.

You keep saying that. Me too. :winking_face_with_tongue:

I really didn’t think I would win these, but I was wrong. Oy.
