They’re available at buywineonline for 160 or so with code welcome, seems like a decent deal. I really liked the 07.
U mean the GF is available at that price?
Yes
Please ping me when we hit Troisgros has a two for one.
That would be the sister restaurant Deuxgros.
Less politically correct but more grammatically correct Deuxgrosses. Doesn’t sound as good though
!
I thought the color looked amazing…I had to get it! Oldest WBord I’ve had is the 79 Haut Brion and it was dead. Hoping this will be a winner!

I hope it shows for you, buzz. I had the 1978 a few years back and it was damn fine!
Awesome!
You win the #WineNerd for the month of December! Love this stuff, but have not seen it in the states since the 2007 or 08 vintage. And of course over here it is now cult pricing. I remember back in the day picking this stuff up for pretty cheap.
I’ll wear the badge with pride!
The 2018 is available at some 35€, while the library versions(1985, 1989, 1990) has been released around 80-120€. And I wanna think the Plouzeau is a little more reliable in terms of quality— not that it’s easier to find…
That’s great pricing!
I had the 1985 about eight or nine years ago in a retrospective of great Loire wine dating back to the 1970s, and admittedly it was a bit lost in the shuffle. I thought it was a bit past its prime. I bet the 1989 and 90 are wonderful. I would definitely buy those.
Had some luck with the Wine.com “VIP” code
One of the Tondonia Tinto GR came with a front label for a 2011 Reserva, but it has a wax seal, the back label and Rioja appellation sticker say Gran Reserva and cork says Gran Reserva so it is in all likelihood a GR.
It definitely has the wrong label to a Gran Reserva. So perhaps it is a 2004 GR with the wrong label on it.
The 2005 Gran Reservas have not yet been released (as I understand it) so cannot be a 2011 Gran Reserva (that is if they even declare any GR in 2011 - which we will not know for another 5 to 6 years).
The Tondonia Tinto Reservas do not have the wax capsule, so that is encouraging. If it were me, I would be tempted to scrape off the wax to see what is on top of the cork.
It could be a 2011 Tondonia Reserva I suppose but the wax capsule makes that unlikely IMO.
Good luck
Here is the back label of the same bottle with a 2004 GR Rioja Appellation sticker and GR label. If I received the bottle as a single I’d be more concerned, but since it came with a bunch of others I’m sure it came from the same case.
That is quite the haul! Those 2004 GR Blanco’s are amazing. I opened one this year and it was incredible.
