First bottle had some Grande Siécle #23 magnums for a steal. Too good to pass up.

I’m jealous. We’ve been on a Malconsorts Dujac bender lately.

Lol yeah. I just bought ‘20 Dujac Malconsorts the other day. And ‘19 Drouhin Amoureuses. Hopefully done for the year.

I haven’t even tried the wine yet, which seems really dumb on my part, but I think this will be up my alley. I had hoped to try a ‘17 or something prior but these became available so I just grabbed them.

One of my dream wines right there. I had a 1998 Blanco Reserva this week that was absolutely delicious. I can only imagine what the famed 04 GR is like.

It was my WOTY for 2025. As good as it gets if you like the style.

Purchased by my 43 year old son Peter and gifted to me for Christmas. He is not as much into wine as his Pop, but he pays attention when drinking wine and has a knack for teasing out flavors. He also does some homework before picking a gift wine. Two thoughtful choices.

My 2¢. For me, the Reserva can actually be better, or just as good, and more textured and juicy with bottle age than the GR, which is bigger, is more oxidative seeming, and needs time. Reserva takes about 10-15 years to start peaking. GR is more like 20 plus IME. This is after release, not post vintage. I still don’t think the 1981 and 1987 GR are really ready for example. Whereas wines like 87, 94, and 96 Reserva are ridiculously good and sing now.

YMMV.
