What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

I didn’t realize they made 14 bottle shippers.
No way I wouldn’t get to 18

Guess who didn’t read that thread!

I must have missed this message.

I caught that one in Islamorada some years back. Actually got two on fly in the same day!

For the most part I don’t like permit because they are not honest fish. Much or most of the time they won’t eat a well presented fly and swim off totally uninterested. Once in a rare show though you get one. Have you fished for them?

I hear ya, it certainly is a first world problem to be debating which of those four you actually like the best, lol. I had a Magnum of the 2006 a couple of months ago, it was outstanding, but I would still give it a few more years. Overall, I really like 2011 and 2012 in Pomerol, that little appellation really shined.

Yes, I have. Been once. Caught one on my first cast (first cast to a permit) and realized I’d probably jinxed myself after that. Mine was off Key West. I don’t do much saltwater though. Still a trout bum at heart. Montana tugs at my heart much more than the beach.

I lived in Islamorada for 8 years. My wife and I both competed in the invitational tarpon fly tournaments, but my real love was really big bonefish back when they had them in the upper keys. They are all gone now (lots of theories as to why) but it used to be that btw Biscayne Bay and Islamorada there were plenty of flats that held 10-12+ pound fish. Tailing, mudding, etc., those were the great old days!

I’m not super into trout fishing but I have a 6’ two-weight Payne bamboo rod and one of my all time favorite things in the world is to hike up steep waterfall/plunge pool brook trout steams. Amazing how aggressive those little guys are!

Recent purchases from a local wine shop in a smaller city in France. Owner was out of a listed 2021 Felettig Chambolle VV, so he replaced it with the 1er at no additional charge. Never had something like that happen before.

2016 Lorenzon Piece 15
2017 Poggio di Sotto RdM

2x Wasenhaus Sekt. Pre-ordered and I don’t typically buy before I try, but I’ve been happy with Wasenhaus whites and reds (when I can find them).

That’s awesome. I had the good fortune to cast to some of those big bonefish back when I was in college. I would come down and fish out of Marathon with a guide on my fall break from school. Would save money from the summer working in a fly shop aoni could fish some in the fall

The board does have a private message feature…

Sorry. Will be mindful of that in the future

Nah. Wouldn’t be Berserkers!!!

Sitting at the beach right now and it’s the big mullet run, massive tarpon are everywhere, even breaking water. Lots of sharks circling around as well. Vero Beach.

I’d grab a case at that price, moratorium or not. A stunning wine. I opened a bottle a few weeks ago—07/20 disgorgement.

Luckily for my wallet this was the only bottle that my store received.

I didn’t buy them, but Envoyer offered some of the best madeira ever made today.
