just looked this up . That’s a good price.
For me, it’s a no-brainer. The Rare cuvées have been consistently excellent since 2002 or earlier, and 2013 is shaping up to be a stellar vintage overall. As for tasting notes, I might not be the best person to ask—I prefer my Champagne with more age than most. So far, I’ve only opened my ‘98s, ‘02s, and ‘06s. I haven’t even touched the ‘08s yet, let alone the ‘13.

one of the most memorable bottles I have ever had the privilege to enjoy (shared between 4 people) was the 1959 Lafite. It was truly excellent. You are fortunate indeed to have such a vintage as your birth year! 
That’s great to hear. Really appreciate the color. I rarely spend (pun intended) this much on a bottle, especially one that I have never tried, but it seemed like I had found a decent deal. And for better or worse, joining this community, my wine buying confidence has been boosted. Happy to get confirmation from one of the bubbles experts here that it’s not a bad bottle to take a $$$ flyer on.

Sort of! It’s Trailside but made by Jeremy Seysses of Domaine Dujac in partnership with Carlton McCoy (who owns Heitz)! Thought it’d be interesting to try a Napa cab made by a Burgundian producer
