What is YOUR most recent wine purchase? (Part 2)

Thanks to @scamhi who reminded me of the Woodland Hills Wine Co sale, I picked up a couple of magnums of 2013 Deutz Cuvee William for future holidays. Thanks Suzanne.

I also reloaded some Ridge zins and blends including magnums of Geyserville and Lytton Springs. They are really hitting the spot lately and are so versatile.

Lastly just made my request to Fraser for the Sami Odi release of a mixed case.

Have you tried the Guyot wines? I heard about them from one of Levi’s interviews originally and picked up some but haven’t opened yet.

No, I bought them because of @Robert_Dentice glowing review, excited to try them!

1 to 3 bottles each of the following:

'20 Tiefenbrunner Gewurztraminer Tardus Vendemmia Tardiva
'23 Tramin Gewurztraminer
'23 Am Stein Silvaner Trocken Wurzberg
'20 Ziereisen Weisser Burgunder
'21 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Riesling Trocken Alte Reben
'22 Elena Walch Pinot Blanco
'21 Hans Wirsching Silvaner Trocken
'21 Geil Silvaner Trocken
'21 MĂŒller-Catoir Scheurebe Trocken
'21 MĂŒller-Catoir Muskateller Trocken
'16 Chateau Baret

Some of the above were ordered on News Year’s eve from Saratoga Wine. I now notice that some of the very ones I just ordered and some others that I ordered from them in November are now only available by the case. This was not the case(no pun intended) when I bought them recently. Typically, case only orders at Saratoga seemed to be for pre-arrivals, back vintages or things like 375ml bottles of TBA, BA or gold cap Auslese. Looking through its website, almost all Selbach-Oster wines are now by the case, same with the Ziereisen offerings (including the ones above which were available by the single bottle just days ago.) My wife really liked the Weinbach Gewurztraminer Les Treilles Du Loup we had on Thanksgiving so I thought I would get a few more bottles, but now I can only get it by the case. Same with anything from Paul Blanck which I was able to get by the bottle just last month. This is unfortunate, as I don’t want(and can’t afford) to buy a case of most wine I would like to buy. To date, I have been very pleased with the service, prices and offerings from Saratoga - plus they ship to Kansas.

I emailed them on Friday asking if this was a change in their retail plan or brought about by their suppliers, or some other reason. I have not yet gotten a response. Hopefully, I will get one this coming week.

PS The Am Stein and Wirsching Silvaners are both in fluted bottles not the traditional Franken Bocksbeutel. Count me as preferring (for nostalgic reasons) the Bocksbeutel. Yes, they are a PITA to store. Like it or lump it.

Last time I had the 2008 Le Mont DS, it was in its awkward teenage Chenin phase. But until it shut down, there was little doubt to me it is the best LM Demi since the 1996 and up to today. Among the best ever.

Glad I picked it up. Only have one left of the first 3 I bought (1 was oxed sadly), and i hope to keep these for a while.
