Made a further enquiries; it is an owc 6 bottle case. The original owc was only sold in 12 bottle format. I understand it has been stored with a negotiant for a number of years.
All my purchases over the spring/summer are starting to arrive at Domaine. Went by today to see what I had easy access to as Domaine is constructing new lockers (bad timing).
Seth Long sent out my second mixed case of 2019 chardonnays, but also this which I wasnât expecting. As a thank you for supporting his wines
If youâre getting comped Chard mags for all your Chard purchases and not riesling ones, youâre hoarding the wrong variety
In all seriousness though, Sethâs wines are awesome and I should probably seek out some mags at some point. My order finally arrived at Domaine. Will be cracking some bottles soon.
If I were living in Germany and JJ Prum, Willi Schaefer, Von Schubert Maximin Grunhaus, etc. were fledgling producers perhaps Iâd have a chance
Which of Sethâs wines have you tried so far? On this reload I got some more X Omni (I have close to a full case at this point), WV, Seven Springs, and got a couple Memorie and pink label.
High acidity and tension. Itâs the coolest site Seth gets grapes from, and the last he picks in the season. Itâs definitely chardonnay, but in the structure of riesling.
Yeah I kind knew that was the answer (nice acidity, mineral streak, etc.). Itâs just fun to poke at stereotypes . A Loire drinkerâs Bordeaux is region to region but grape to grape is harder⌠Cabernet Franc drinkerâs Cabernet Sauvignon? Frappato drinkerâs Gamay?
This is my third reload on the 2014, such an outstanding vintage for this producer. If anyone wants a classic Chinon that may drink like some of the great 89âs, this is it.
