1969 Colares. I’ve happily consumed my lone 1964 Barca Velha.
1955 Barolo
1967 Barolo
1955 Domaine Jean Bourdy Cotes du Jura
A bunch of 1957 birth year wines including Haut Brion, LLC, Calon Segur and Michel Gaunoux Corton Renardes.
1970 Montrose
1929 Rudy.
1959 Huet
Oldest dry wine currently in inventory is a 1970, but it won’t see 12-31-22. Oldest I once had were 1966s, but we’ve drunk those.
a magnum of '89 Haut Brion…and a 6-pack of '94 Dominus at home. But every time I hit a great wine list I’m buying Barolos and Barbarescos from the 60’s and 70’s…finally realized that I do like Nebbiolo…just has to be at least 30 years old.
1959 Huet Clos du Bourg Moelleux
I’ve never owned anything older than 1959 now that I think about it.
Have a current vintage sitting at home gifted to me. I’m very excited about doing a vertical one day since there was another thread about a Huet tasting that seemed legendary.
.
1982 Ormes de Pez, not long to live.
1983 Pichon Comtesse en magnum, probably consume some time next year.
1993 Barbaresco for me, I have very little prior to 2010…
Borges Pather
My current oldest wines are some 1959 Huet Premiere Tries. I’m surprised you’ve never owned any 1947 Huet, though I guess it is even better to just drink with people who have and share them.
The oldest wines I’ve ever owned were 1834 Barbeito Malmsey, 1947 Huet Haut-Lieu Moelleux, and 1949 Remoissenet Vosne-Romanée Clos de Reas, but they were all consumed long ago.
1929 Yquem
1955 Colares
1960 Chianti
1961&62 Barolo
Think the Colares has the highest odds of drinking well. Had a 1969 some years ago, it was sensational. Fresh, fruits still there and the wine just kept on changing with every sip. I hope Tomas will have a similar experience when he pulls the trigger!
1957 Borgogno Barolo Riserva
That 1834 is the oldest wine I’ve had.
I’ve had many old Huets from the 1920s to 1950s with others, but I never bought them. Joe brought 21, 24, and 45 to Sasha’s 50th. I doubt I will ever again have 21 in one hand and 24 in the other at the same time.
1959
waiting for Audoze to come in and put us all to shame…
Not counting the Pierre Peters Heritage NV wine that contains reserve bottles back to 1921, the oldest in my cellar at the moment is a red burgundy from 1935.
