Verlander finds bottle of his favorite wine waiting at his locker after elusive 1st win with Giants
The story is everywhere but I have not seen the name of the wine.
Geritt Cole once said Verlander was his Napa guy.
IIRC the Yankees gave Cole a bottle of Masseto when they signed him. Allegedly Cole’s favorite wine
Gerrit Cole’s favorite wine is Masseto Merlot, particularly the 2004 and 2005 vintages. The Yankees capitalized on this knowledge during their free agency meeting with Cole, presenting him with bottles of Masseto, including the specific 2004 vintage he had enjoyed in Florence with his wife. This gesture, orchestrated by Yankees clubhouse manager Lou Cucuzza, is believed to have played a role in Cole’s decision to sign with the team.
Gerrit Cole’s father, Mark Cole, is a certified sommelier.

I just have to say, the guy is stealing money this year. I thought Posey was going to sort things out. As a Giants fan, I need to drink more.
