What is the absolutely best closure for a champagne bottle?

I`ve tried many different types. Most have not stood up to repeated usage. Some have not provided an air tight seal. Some are clumsy and not easy to pack and travel with. On and on. Help here please!

This one has worked well for me: https://www.amazon.com/Champagne-Stopper-MiTBA-Sparkling-Built/dp/B074P23NVX/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ots=1&slotNum=11&imprToken=5cbc997b-5bd8-3acd-475&ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=eater0c-20&linkId=6b38ca744e940cff9614e59fdf5a53b5&language=en_US&ascsubtag=[]et[p]21574312[t]w[r]google.com[d]D

I"ve always found the lower esophageal sphincter as the best closure by far.

I just use one of those ribbed plastic stoppers that come in a bottle of cheap sparkling wine. They fit perfectly. Just shove it in and it keeps the fizz in. Twist and pull and it pops out. Been using the same one for years and it still works fine. Price = $0 (unless you count the $5.00 for the original bottle champagne.gif)

This is the one I use for every day over the last 4.5 years, but it doesn’t work for travel unless it’s short distance.

I seem to be woefully challenged when searching for past threads on subjects of interest as I didn’t find this one- many thanks.

I have to admit, I did not think of that one and I do know about the LOS.

Thanks Jayson. I also have used that one and failed to include it in the photo. Mine gave way in a year and lost its tight seal. Maybe a flawed stopper and I’ll have to try another.

another vote for this one. has served me well for sure.

Me three…

We also use the flatter one but this one that fits a little into the bottle seems to stay in better.

Le Creuset stopper…though probably doesn’t fit 90% of bottles, comes with a 10 year warranty, first one is going strong 8+ years in at this point

I have a collection of stoppers of various sizes from ex-liquor bottles. Can always find one that’s a snug fit, works great. Same for larger beer bottles I cant finish.

That’s a fine collection of sex toys champagne.gif

It works great for me, preserves the bubbles for at least a couple of days.

I just bought one of these and so far it has fit every bottle on which I have tried it. Superb quality of construction. Absurd price, especially considering the fact that the concept of an unfinished bottle of champagne is alien to this household.

Oh well.
