What goes with chicken noodle soup (besides Nyquil)

Whisky!

I think you could definitely do a Pinot. I’ve done that when the other half was sick, but I wasn’t, and chicken soup was on the menu for dinner. Paired pretty nicely.

Dehlinger Pinot Noir is my standard with my wife’s chicken noodle soup.

I did a young St Cosme CdR. The fruitiness played well with the big punch of black pepper I put in the soup.

Good call. I can definitely see that working. Which year?

2012
None of that old wine. I want some fresh wine (with a little umbrella) [wink.gif]

We always have aged chardonnay with Matzoh ball soup and then geffilte fish for Passover. Works fine.

very good sir.

If when ill, tawny Port. If when healthy, I don’t know, whatever the above posts say.

Madeira or if that is not your thing, Sherry. If it is a hot/spicy soup, forget about wine altogether.

I’ve never paired a wine with chicken noodle soup but would attempt a dry Riesling…

(Crozes-)Hermitage blanc - or Champagne

Kaena Rose paired nicely with some chicken and matzah ball soup I made for dinner last week.

I haven’t had the 2012. Had a couple bottles of the 2011, one last week. Not bad, fairly straightforward/one-dimensional and I think priced perfectly right (so in that sense maybe not a great QPR??). I won’t drink when I’m feeling at all under the weather (some weeks of wine obsession I think it’s the only evidence I’m not an alcoholic…), but if I did, I think it would be a great match with some soup and the couch. Fresh is great then.
