I received a case of 2005 Charbay Cabernet Sauvignon as a gift from a business associate. I have never heard of this producer before and wondered if any cab-heads out there could offer some insight.
Thanks in advance.

I know them from their vodka. Never had any of their wines.
Cabernet infused Vodka?
Why not? Mollydooker can get away with Vodka infused Shiraz. Might as well go the other way.
There is one tasting note on CellarTracker: 2005 Domaine Charbay Cabernet Sauvignon, USA, California, Napa Valley - CellarTracker" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; That guy sure seems to like it. His prior tasting notes suggest that not everything gets a good score from him although I did not try to figure out what else he likes.
Best,
Andrew
Was the vodka any good? Based on the Charbay web site, their track record with spirits appears to be more established than with wines.
Andrew, thanks for pointing out the CT note. It is good know someone drank this wine and survived the experience, especially since I have a whole case of it now.
i wish i got cases of wine as a gift!
pop one and post a note please. i had no idea that they made wines.

stags leap fruit, should be ok!
They make a line of fruit infused vodka’s that used real fruit and were pretty good as long as you like the flavors. The meyer lemon was the best for my taste.
I never had the regular vodka.
Nice gift. On a Napa trip a few years ago we visited Domaine Charbay. It was a fun visit and a bit different from most winery visits because of the spirits production. But you can’t sample the spirits at the winery. The cabs are well made - interesting that the winery is located on Spring Mountain but they get the cab fruit from Stags Leap District. The pastis, grappa and black walnut liqueur were really good. We tried their whiskey at the Martini House IIRC - very expensive stuff and from memory seemed to be like cask strength. I have been a fan of the blood orange vodka in the past.
Enjoy.
