Lot 506 2023 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Only 6 days later and Back in the 
‘s for Labor Day with 4 generations of family this time. A partial display shown, 5 more enroute. Kings Canyon 
National Park!
This selection is drinking fine and fast. It’s currently Good for me. Like a robust white wine.

If I remember right, 124 didn’t show well when tasted young, but this seems to be pretty common with dN wines. I wonder if 400 is going to turn the corner - though it seems that some people do like it now..

Thats great. I thought us was good early and ordered 6 more and then it was a jammy mess for the last few years. I have 3-4 tucked away somewhere.
Based on other reviews I haven’t touched this one even though it’s a 2016, maybe time to give it a shot. It was such a weird release since it was a “shiner” in so much as Cam bought it from another negociant label that he decided not to release (so he bought it from himself?). Looking at the old write up I’m not sure how we were confident about Clark Claudon. If that was the source, it looks like it’s been drinking well under the original label for some time now.
So was 274 and remember how terrible that one is. I still have 4 bottles.

Past weekend:
- 2018 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.20 Reserve - USA, California, Napa Valley (9/3/2026)
Double decanted 15 mins prior to serving with homemade TOGOS #8 sandwich and fries.
Nose: Spicy dark berries and cassis mixed with earth & florals.
Color: Opaque and dark in glass. Stains sides of glass. Dark color of 337 Clone evident.
Palate: Cassis, blackberry, touch of mocha & minerality into finish.
Recent tasting of the OG N.17 which this is the "Reserve" to- I seemed to prefer N.17 to reserve. Nevertheless, solid Napa Cabernet here for the price. (91 points)

Friday evening Wine Thirty was an hour late as daughter and son in law drove out of the Central Valley to be near the Coast with us for Labor Day weekend. Pulled out this wonderful Sauvignon Blanc o share with them.
- 2022 de Négoce Sauvignon Blanc OG N.413 - USA, California, Napa Valley, Stags Leap District (9/4/2026)
This Sauvignon Blanc is getting better with bottle time. Wish I grabbed an extra case.
Nose: Gooseberry, mango, lime bursting off the glass. Riedel Somm series.
Color: Bright yellow.
Palate: Lime, minerality, touch or pear all followed with modest acidity on a long lovely finish. One of the better California SB's I've had in years. (92 points)

Friday evening dinner wine- another 2018 de Negoce Cabernet gem. From the Hillside Vineyard Napa Cabernet series offered to VIPs in August 2020.
- 2018 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.29 - USA, California, Napa Valley, Coombsville (9/4/2026)
Popped and poured with marinated inside skirt and tri tip steaks.
This Coombsville Cabernet is delightful with food, the umami from marinade paired well with beefiness of skirt steak and Cab.
Nose: Blackberry, cassis, acacia, quite plentiful bouquet.
Color: Pitch dark purple.
Palate: Waves of cassis, blackberry, dark fruit attack the tongue. That Coombsville beefiness hits afterwards and carries onto a VERY lengthy finish. Fruit just keeps lingering in your mouth. (93 points)

Saturday dinner wine: First de Negoce Twin Hills Vineyard Pinot (other was an Eleveur 2021 PN).
- 2019 de Négoce Pinot Noir OG N.249 - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (9/5/2026)
Popped and poured with roasted Salmon filet topped with fresh dill butter.
Nose: Spice and dark Pinot fruits.
Color: Dark garnet
Palate: Cola and dark plums, picking up a touch of ripe stem inclusion, brown sugar. Finish is balanced, pleasant with supporting tannins. Good with the red fish and fine after dinner too. 4 left from half case ordered. (91 points)

Lot 450 | 2022 Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Almost 2.5 years bottled, PnP.
I wanted a Mountain wine to enjoy in the mountains, this worked well. Medium bodied, spicy fruit with a bit of minty flavors. Drinks fine now, aging will add to the complexity. It went well with our avocado bacon cheeseburgers, and fresh mountain air. Single yum, with a chance of improving with age. Drink now, a decant will help. Better, age it to make it yummier?

201, 2019 RRV Cabernet (thought to be Dehlinger) - very nice, expressive, polished, fine tannins, a little something like pyrazines but not bell pepper 
delish.

Lot 603 (2025 Sauvignon Blanc - likely Daou estate reserve). This keeps getting better and better and an unbelievable deal at $99 shipped. I opened the first bottle in late June and it was still somewhat closed, but by mid-July it had opened nicely and continues to evolve. Very much a rich and oaked SB, not the lightweight summer crusher as I expected for the price. I wish I would have bought 2 cases and put one of them in off-site storage to enjoy over the next few years.

Lot 234 Russian River 2020 Pinot Noir (91 pts) was the perfect pairing as an Austrian St. Laurent wine substitute for last night’s ‘Hungarian’ styled veal Wienerschnitzel (finely chopped roasted hot Santa Fe hatch chili peppers whipped into the egg bath).
The 2001 Dehlinger Reserve Cabernet remains one of my favorite Cabs from that era…
