What de Négoce wine are you drinking tonight?

BF = Barrel Fermented! Yumminess!
As it says on the label. In Spanish, I believe?

Can you spend it on de Negoce, Scott? I haven’t been able to figure it out and keep losing it. I thought it was Shopify’s way to get you to spend more.

Yes, I HAVE spent a Shop credit on dN! AND it worked!
You need to use the Shop App to purchase. spend and/or receive the credit!
Doesn’t seem to work on T1’s. I can buy with the Shop credit from the dN store THRU the Shop App!
ie currently can buy #365 6 packs with the credit. plus some others. For Single Bottles from the Bottle Shop, its super easy!
Try it! Full disclosure, I sold my shares in SHOP, at a loss. Boo-Hoo! :grinning:

OG Lot 180 2018 Paso Robles Meritage

Needed a PnP, for “Tuesday Night in the Park”. This summer tradition has lasted about 35 years, so far.
A group of various couples bring food & booze (mainly wine/beer). The “Community Band” plays and we party On!
Fun times for all. One buddy brought #349, another brought his Homemade 2018 Paso Robles Grenache.
My easy preference was #180:
Smooth, balanced and moderately complex. Enjoy now and over the next couple of years, at max.
No decant needed. It’s a one Yum!:wine_glass:
with Chili Colorado Burrito with way too much rice (from a local Taqueria).

Holds up great against spicy grilled chicken with rice and Mexican street corn. It’s As aggressive as usual. Like a 13 old boy going through puberty. Confident and brash. Perhaps he’s a bit more confident than he should be considering that he’s not really gone through his growth spurt and his emotions are a bit disjointed but he clearly is powerful and holds his own is a wrestling match with the spicy food. Reminded me of the Chocolate covered Cherries, blueberries and almonds that my uncle sends us every Christmas from Turlock CA.

Lot 307 2019 Napa Carneros Pinot Noir

8+ months in the bottle, time to try one.
Perfectly Delicious! Great Pinotberry nose, ideal balance between power and elegance.
I believe this can age well for another 2-3 years.
Yet More proof that Carneros is my current favorite Appellation for PN. Yum= :wine_glass: :wine_glass:
with the sweet wife’s Fish Tacos :taco::tropical_fish:

Day 2, 1 ounce of delicious dregs, tastes the same. :face_with_monocle:

On deck: #301. in the bullpen #64.

OG 20 cab blend. PnP. Just a beautful color. Great bordeaux blend. Went well with dinner cutting the fat of a grilled top sirloin. Great acid and balanced, its juicy and crisp. Very long finish. These have come a long way 92pts. Exceeded expectations.

Sylvester & I are enjoying #301, and the beautiful Summer (finally) evening. On the porch, overlooking the lake, in the wonderful coastal oak woodlands.

Amazing!! Enjoy it!! Crazy heatwave over the next few days…take care!

Do you guzzle dN straight out of the bottle like a beer? :joy: :joy:

I only drink straight from the Bottle, after I break my wineglass.
That is Approximately 8:30 pm nightly…doh!

Good strategy. I should try drinking straight from the bottle :joy:. Tired of replacing broken wineglasses… :clap:t3:

I think that is funny.
Not funny, I have at least 3 deer/bucks very nearby, waiting to eat my garden, another nightly occurrence.
Doh! Go figure….

Last night we were treated to not only South Carolina vinegar based pulled pork w/succulent deep smoked ribs, shrimp, ‘rocket’ [arugula] pasta salad and fruit 'n chocolate dessert but to a three bottle Cabernet Sauvignon blind tasting: dNé L 340 Clare Valley 2017, Hall Ranch Paso Robles 2020, and L 352 Coonawarra 2021. Yes, relatively young wines, but a shocking total resulting score from six participants based on the Scale of Three Score Sheet (https://www.travelwineandnightskies.net/post/winetasting-on-the-scale-of-threes). Let me just cut to the resulting combined score.

Lot 340 2017 Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($8). Though CH states this medium bodied wine could age another decade, why wait? - Group 91 score / My score 94

Hall Ranch Paso Robles 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon ($20 Total Wine) - Group score 87 / My score 83

Lot 352 2021 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon ($8) - Group score 97 / My score 97 / Though CH states ‘will age gracefully for another 10-15 years’, I just cannot see how this would not be consumed much earlier.

Final score: Australians 2 - Americans 0

Per my last note, this really takes abo up a day to open up (open 4-6 hours then vinovac overnight, and open again for a few more hours). This is drinking really hot right now out of the bottle, with the alcohol a little overpowering, but this really clears up on day 2. This is a big wine, hard to imagine it's from mountainous soil, but it is delicious and that alcohol needs to "burn off" a bit as it comes in too hot on entry. A really good wine lies underneath. This could use another year or two, or 10 in the cellar. This has the stuffing to last a long time.

Funny thing is, I bought this as a cellar defender, and it was an exceptional value (I think I paid $9-$12 over two purchases), but it would benefit from more time. Then again, for $9, who cares? A really great value.
