What de Négoce wine are you drinking tonight?

sorry, nothing on the horizon.

OG dN Lot 181 2019 Amador County Cabernet Sauvignon

This hidden little gem has aged enough, to become become a PnP with no decant.
I’m pleasently surprised how nicely this yummy :wine_glass:wine has developed.
Accidentally bought this second case (confused this one with #112 Sierra Foothills, due similar geographic Appellations). Since (the double yum) #112 was/has sold out, this became a very happy accident!! Especially on sale @ $108/del.!!
Nice fleshy fruit and balanced with good oak. Drinking this now, don’t intend or need to age it for much longer. 1 Yum🍷
w/ grilled Pork Chop :pig2:

Day 2 Update: Not oxidized, still very delicious. You can age this wine another 2-3 years, if desired???

I purchased n.181 as a weekday cellar defender awhile back and suffice it to say it’s a way better wine than I expected. Certainly more QPR than what I would normally call a weekday wine!

Yes! 181 is delicious! I purchased a case in one of the big sales but had zero expectations. And then it became one of my favorite weekday wines. Happy surprise!

366 Rose de Grenache. Just arrived today. Thank you to everyone who recommended it as I don’t know if I would have bought it otherwise! I only bought 1/2 case but might go back for more. I’m not one for detailed tasting notes but I do smell the strawberries! I read the WB reviews for my son and husband and they asked if you guys were getting paid to write those reviews. :wine_glass:

We love it. We bought a case and I don’t think it will make it through the summer. It was good seeing you at the DMV DeNegoce event.

FYI, #181, still very good on Day 2.:wine_glass:

It’s all part of the Ponzi scheme.

#61- Zinfandel- 2018 - Dry Creek
Light in style, good acidity. Could mistake it for a lightweight Central Coast Syrah is served blind. Cam’s review calls it a Pinot lover’s zinfandel, which is accurate. His other remarks are exaggerated, but generally true. Drink now or hold up to 5 years. Definitely picked on the greener side, there’s none of the raisinated sweetness that some zinfandels have. Nothing amazing, but a nice change of pace, and a well made wine.

Yesterday morning 69!!!
No, not that. Or dN #69, I don’t have that one…
My 69th consecutive monthly summit of Cerro Alto, a local & a difficult peak climb.
Reasoning, I must stay fit enough to do it monthly, that’s the physical rewards.
The celebration dinner: Ribeye with #66 (mostly Stags Leap)!!

OG N.66 2018 Napa Valley (mostly Stags Leap) Cabernet

Extra long 24 hour decant. Smooth, supple with dusty tannins(Stags Leap DUST?)
I really enjoyed this ponderous and powerful CS. Slightly muted CS varietal flavor. Nothing left for Day 2…
Great low pH(?), and still slightly reduced. You can start in on this one now with a minimum 24 hour decant.
Double Yum!!:wine_glass::wine_glass:

My wife is generally ‘frowny’ towards de Negoce–a bit unfairly given the price–but the n.346 Sauv Blanc was one she asked if we had more of, even with full knowledge of its label. (Sadly, no, it’s one I sampled as a singleton :frowning: ) It’s good stuff, provided the profile aligns with one’s taste.

  • 2022 de Négoce Sauvignon Blanc OG N.346 - Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills (5/29/2023)
Very tasty Sauv Blanc. A mix of grassy, pungent pyrazines and tropical fruit. Round yet fresh, finishes with a delicious herbal tone.

Popped one last night and i think this needs some more time. The barrel was very pravelant on the nose and the palette was somewhat subdued. If the source is what i think it is then hopefully, with a little time, we will all be in for a special treat. Anyone else agree?

222 merlot last two nights. What a treat that bottle is. I saw it for a hot minute during all the crazy sales 5-6 months back, went to order and it was gone. Have 8-9 left and wish it was 3 cases. Lovely stuff.

Is she frowny bc of preference of “nicer wines” or frowny bc of how it’s filling your closets/extra rooms?

Frowny due to preference for ‘nicer’ wines. I have a decent stash of dN as cellar defender-type reds, though nothing that won’t fit within our wine fridges. I like the value play in a < $15 bottle that checks a few but not all boxes, especially when we don’t have the time or focus to decant a nicer bottle. That preference is not shared.

150 is very good!

Just sharing my thoughts on a random DnG bottle that I had last night. I had the Lot 354 Centenarian Vines Shiraz which is supposedly $100 per bottle Elderton Command from the Barossa Valley, and while it might be, the one thing that it surely is not is ready to drink!! A very young 2021 wine that probably needs at latest another 2-3 years to come together. Very bold with high alcohol % of 15.5. However, you can tell that the bones of a good wine are there, so be as patient as possible!!!

Last night

OG N 315 . Four stars
OG N 160 . 4.5 stars. When the next T1 cellar defender comes out- I will likely up my purchase to at least 2 cases.

Tonight

OG N 193 -Red HIlls Cabernet

Will likely put another red on deck. If not, will go with OG N347 Limestone Branch Sauvignon Blanc.

Has anyone tried the 351 Margaret River cab? I can’t recall any chatter about it & there are no reviews on CT. The description of it is appealing to me, and although I’ve cut back on purchases, the 20%-off offer is very tempting.

Lot 136 2018 Adelaida District, Paso Robles Syrah

Been awhile since I’ve tried one of these, and I was pretty impressed. Stylistically it’s closest to a Cote Rotie with a distinct sun roasted fruit quality, peppery spices, and a dollop of fig finish. Absolutely, crowd-pleasingly delicious, and right in the heart of its drinking window.
T1 price was $13. Compares favorably to Andrew Murray Roasted Slope at $55, so Ring-A-Ding-Ding.
