I thought it was great too. Its only fault was being opened next to N.234, which happens to be even better.
Respectfully disagree! To each their own.
N.270 has been an interesting one to follow here and on CT. Stylistically it crosses a line and is very interesting to see who falls on each side. Regardless on what side of style line your preferences fall under - it is well received.
I’ve noticed over the last several years that the domestic KS wines have been getting worse. That KS Carneros PN was the worst Carneros PN I’ve ever had. In retrospect I was probably too generous giving it 82 points on CT.
Need to ship some Chardonnay I have on long term storage. Which should I ship?
I’ve liked 207 and 167 but have these others in LTS. Only have room for one case right now.
- 207 2019 Willamette Valley (Yamhill/Eola)
- 167 2019 Napa Valley (Careneros/Oak Knoll)
- 174 2019 Russian River Valley
- 130 2019 Napa Valley Chardonnay (Carneros/ Coombsville)

Yes, sorry, meant No. 22
I’ve had all four, including a case of 207 from T1 and an inclusion in a Mystery Case. I’d vote 207 or 167.
The 207s in the mystery had Vinc+ closures and the ones in my solid case were Nomacork. The ones under Vinc+ tasted a lot more open and ready. I think I remember @Cameron_Hughes saying he preferred the more open Vinc+ for Chards. And on this single datapoint I’d have to agree.
Maybe a request to disclose the closure type and (my pet peeve, stackable or not) bottle shape?
Glen,
The 207 will age longer than those Napa/RRV Chards. Cheers, Tim

2019 de Négoce Cabernet Sauvignon OG N.194 - USA, California, Napa Valley (10/2/2022)
Decanted for 2h, back into bottle, followed for a few hours.
Color is light for cabernet, could be certainly be mistaken for an extracted pinot. Nose is pure candied black cherry and powdery florals surrounded by a halo of something vegetal. It perfumes very well and is rather appealing to me. Palate is medium-light body, ripe acid, bright red fruit, very supple oak in the background. Very linear, focused, and crystalline. Finish shows dark cherries, ripe acid, a hint of herbal stem, and a little bit of chalky tannin.
It's almost deceiving to call this Napa Cabernet. This is not dense, extracted, black, mouth-filling, rich, etc. This is elegant, pretty, restrained, delicate and feminine in style. It will appeal to fans of Loire cab franc and pinot lovers generally.
Drink now with a 2h decant or hold for a few more years. Contrary to prior notes, I think this has plenty of acid and tannin to last 5-7 years at minimum. Pair this with a rack of lamb or duck breast. (90 points)

Good point, how do you tell the difference between the two? I’m assuming there is a small marking along the side? Thanks for any insight.
No difference in the label as far as I can tell. You can easily tell by just looking at the closure on the bottle. Vinc+ has a pattern and looks more like a cork, being agglomerated, and Nomacork is a flat color.
Has anyone else observed this variation on 207 or any other?
@ Glenn and David. I haven’t tried any of the Syrah Sampler yet, so thanks for the update.
Sigh, just one bottle left. (re the 77 Chardonnay).
For what it’s worth, the Vinc+ corks actually say “Vinc+” in tiny lettering on the side.
167 won out. I will ask for a case of that to be shipped! Thanks for the votes.

2019 de Négoce Petite Sirah OG N.113 - USA, California, Sierra Foothills, Fair Play (10/3/2022)
Decanted for an hour.
Color is vibrant ruby with hints of purple. Nose is beautiful with raspberry and raspberry leaf. There is oak supporting but it is very elegant and light. Palate is decidedly medium-light body. Plenty of crunchy acidity that uplift the same raspberry character. Finish shows chalky minerality, raspberry leaf, and light red fruits. Plenty of acid and tannin supporting the wine.
You could convince me this is a more tannic Beaujolais. Not a dense and deep PS, this is rather elegant and almost pinot-like when considering the varietal. Very strong effort albeit a bit simple.
Drinking well now with a 1-2h decant but has some tannin and acid to last a good while in the cellar. This is a good 89. (89 points)

Lot 142 HHH Malbec 2018
Received this as a gift so thought it might be interesting to open it now before deciding to place an actual order.
Good nose, very dark fruit. 87 at first taste, 88-89 on 2nd glass an hour later. Great as a gift.
Would I pay $18 for it??? Probably. A very nice malbec for <$20.
That said, I’m not a malbec lover but do appreciate them. The wife loves them and this was no exception.
When I place my order I chose seveal options. One of which is a syrah from the Rocks Disctrict in WA.
Having had many syrahs from that area it will be interesting see how close this product is compared to those higher priced versions.
seems like #300 is my new cellar defender LOL
Popped open a N.220 on this cool evening. Totally over delivers for the $8 price point. I am now getting a multi-minute long waxy and spicy finish off of it. Somehow manages to thread that line between porch pounder and slow TV sipper.
Had a 192 Knights Valley over the last 3 nites, great wine.
Notes from my first two DN wines:
-
2020 de Négoce Pinot Noir OG N.234 - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (10/3/2022)
A modern, ripe, fairly concentrated Pinot. Garnet with purple fringing. Cherry and red fruit and forest nose. More of the same on the palate with some pepper and spice. A little leather/tobacco note too. Complex medium plus finish. Great for the $15 price tag -
2019 de Négoce Pinot Noir OG N.126 - USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley (9/30/2022)
A nice pinot. Dark ruby to garnet. Medium body. Red fruit and a touch of funk on the nose. More fruit and less funk on the palate, somewhat concentrated, fruit forward, shortish finish. I'd like a little more acidity but it was a nice pair with a salmon dinner.
