TATUAJE NUEVITAS JIBARO NO. 2 Purchased May 2020
A very nice and balanced cigar. Peppery and woodsy. A fairly easy smoke although the last third started to become a bit harsh but I really enjoyed this but it could probably use some more time in the humidor = B+

Plasencia Cosecha 146 Toro
Last of the Plasencia samples my rep dropped off last week. Rich tobacco on the foot and dark berries on the cold draw. A ton of pepper after lighting the cigar. It quickly fades as leather, hay and coffee notes take over. There is a very light sweetness and occasional notes of dark berries. The sweetness builds along with notes of cedar, almonds and cinnamon. The water I’m drinking to cleanse my palate leaves a cinnamon toast aftertaste. A little pepper returns on the finish at the nub. Impeccable.

Brick House Double Connecticut Toro
Two months in the humidor. Hay, barnyard on the foot and some fruitiness on the cold draw. Creamy leather, cedar and hay with a light white pepper finish for first third. Notes of toast, coffee, roasted nuts and mild citrus compliment the profile in the second third and on to the nub. Mild to almost medium with a sharp edged burn, firm ash and lots of dense smoke.

Marrero Tico Pigtail Robusto
Rarely talked about but another terrific medium cigar from Marrero. Natural flavors. Tobacco, leather, earth. = B+

I was going to have an Alec Bradley Tempus Toro Natural but a bad burn cut it short.

Went with a sure thing, Aging Room Quattro Maestro

Cohiba Black Supremo
One year in the humidor. Rich tobacco and some barnyard on the foot, dark chocolate on the cold draw. Begins with leather, cedar, kitchen spice and coffee. By the end of the first third, some sweetness appears and the coffee is now mocha. By mid cigar, there is a little more sweetness and the mocha is now chocolate. A touch of pepper appears on the finish near the end of the second third and the profile remains to the end of the cigar. Medium strength, a little self correcting uneven burn, solid ash and dense smoke. Very good cigar but pricey.

Thanks for the note. I have 4 in the humi but have yet to smoke one.
Crowned Heads Buckeye Land
Cold draw tastes like melons. The cigar smells awesome. The first draw is a little harsh. Flavors are great rich and creamy but the heat continues throughout. Maybe my palate is a little tweaked but I still very much enjoyed this. And it is a beautiful looking cigar. = A

Oliva Serie O Double Toro Maduro
Six months in the humidor. Black tea on the foot and earth on the cold draw. Leather, cedar and earth dominate the initial third with espresso and kitchen spice notes. A little black pepper on the finish half way through the cigar along with occasional sweetness. Cinnamon notes appear at the end of the second third and on to the end leaving an after taste of a red hot candy without the heat. Very smooth for a full bodied cigar. Easy draw with lots of dense smoke.

El Gueguense Corona Gorda
A terrific smoke. Leather and vegetal sweetness. Construction and appearance are awesome. = A

Saga Solaz Robusto
This didn’t work well. Eyes burning. ![snort.gif [snort.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/b/bdc3944606213c4dca6c1169cf0a166c8bc4f8c9.gif)

that is some serious hot boxing.

Fuente Fuente Opus X Forbidden 2015 Toro
In the humidor for over a year. One of four sticks that come in a travel humidor with leather cover. A little hay on the foot and cold draw. Starts out creamy with leather, cedar and mild spices. Easy draw, even burn and firm ash. There is some nuttiness building in the second third and hazelnut is the best descriptor I have. Notes of caramel join in mid cigar and the spice component is now cinnamon. The caramel builds enhancing the flavors of the profile to the end. Never got hot, just kept getting better. Medium in strength and big on flavor.

Esteban Carreras Covenant Maduro Toro
One year in the humidor. Barnyard on the foot. The first half inch was chili pepper. Settled in with earth leather and coffee notes with white pepper on the finish. Cedar and some kitchen spice at the middle of the stick and coffee fades to a tea like flavor. The burn is much better than the last one I had and profile quite different and better. The pepper disappears in the final third. Medium strength and body.

Padron 1926 No. 9 Maduro
With the Covid shortage of cigars, we couldn’t find any 9 Maduros. One supplier found old four pack, cello’d cigars and they arrived today. The cello is nearly opaque brown. Very light chocolate on the foot and leather on the cold draw. Chili pepper start that settles in to creamy leather, coffee and mild kitchen spice. Some mild sweetness and cocoa join in after the first third and the coffee becomes mocha. By the end of the second third, the sweetness is gone and coffee returns along with roasted nuts and cedar and the profile remains to the nub. Medium in strength and very tasty.

Las Calaveras Edicion Limitada 2019 LC50 : by Crowned Heads

Warped La Colmena
Tough to beat. Great balance and sets itself apart with texture and flavors. = A+

Davidoff Millenium Blend Toro
In the humidor ten or more years. The band is cream colored instead of white. Bread aroma on the foot, leather on the cold draw. Very light with some hay, leather and natural tobacco notes. Half way in the cigar builds strength and body, adding dark roast coffee, some woodiness and a lingering after taste of kitchen spice. Winding down, there’s a little white pepper and cocoa added to the profile. Solid construction, razor sharp burn, firm ash and plenty of dense smoke. Great cigar.
